Big deal!
They ran roughshod over the site.
The rapist first screws the victim , then pays for the abortion.

This will be a hangout for the elected hacks and unscrupulous donors.

Pay to play Steinway.

Are you sure that's a new roof? It looks like some kind of sheeting or coating.

They gutted the interior too.

Blame on this is on the 4 Astoria politicians (one being touted as soon one of the senior members of the party God help us on that) but the blame must be placed on the Astoria community and the traits of ignorance and selfishness that you would expect from a place where the economy is run by (perhaps?) money laundering LLC 'eateries' that open and close with mind numbing regularity and the local talent could expect nothing more out of life than driving uncle's dump trucks full of demo from its past.

"has gotten" a new roof? Looks more like "is getting".

AND an unsolved Steinway Mansion mystery. See photo:

HERE.

Who owns the inclined land indicated by the red pointing hand? Note the green construction fencing winds its way up and over it. It's been like that since the onset of development in April 2015. But it seems that the constructed terracing is ripe for Spring planting and landscaping. Have the owners commandeered NYC property for their personal use?

NYC Steinway Mansion Councilman Costa Constantinides: What's going on here? A "deal" made with the owners?

(With apologies to Woody Guthrie)

This land is your land.
This land is my land.
On 41st Street
By the Steinway Mansion?

Check that question out HERE.

Steinway Mansion area Councilman Costa Constantinides: Was there a quid pro quo made between the city and the owners to develope that depicted inclined land?

The citizenry demands to know.

Most definitely. This is a big question that should be asked of the banks that give loans to these supposed businesses.

Again, most definitely. Ever since the reign of Mayor Fun Size Bloomberg and continuing under Mayor De Faustio, these emboldened and entrenched machinations have unofficially become policy.

Don't think so, at least in this case. If you read the papers when this was going down the whole deal had such and odor to it Bloomberg didn't even WANT to meet with the local political talent.

This is strictly an Astoria stunt and the community's acquiesce in looking the other direction while this travesty is being played out directly implicates them ... something especially ironic since not only did their leadership do this to them for gain of a few pennies, but their kids future will be that much smaller with this gone.

Well look in the bright side, when those kids grow up they can be waitresses and barkeeps, perhaps dancers and car hops here, and in the world of 21st century Astoria those are the plum careers options for the locals indeed.

So whatcha probum?

Don't waste your time - Alma Bank, Atlantic Bank, Quontic Bank, Ponce de Leon Bank, First Central et al - who do you think owns them?

I don't think bloomberg was involved, I just think his style of governing fostered the chicanery involved with the privatization of public property.

And the banks aren't the only ones, you got to wonder about the partners and contributors to these LLC's, which can be anonymous.

Hence my troll name, which is a take and dig at the shady proprietorships of these dubious businesses.

Great Job again GTA.

Costa trying to form a 'community group' with the usual suspects from Vallonia for a positive community spin on this mess.

So long we find out what's up - legally and otherwise - with that discussed incline.
