Gov's gonna blow up the bridge

From CBS 2:

Cuomo met with the team building the new Kosciuszko Bridge, an outdated 78-year-old span that gives new meaning to the term traffic tie-ups. Yet as the $555 million first phase nears completion, the Governor tells CBS2 that blowing up parts of the bridge is exactly what he’s going to do at some point this summer.

The governor says the demolition will save seven to nine months.

When the project is completed in 2020, it will actually be two bridges connecting Brooklyn and Queens — one in each direction. Luckily for commuters, their relief comes in April because when the first bridge is done, traffic will be rerouted and the old bridge will go up in smoke.

How about putting people to work to take this down?? Get people off of Medicaid.

How about the environment and all that dust and particles? Let's put people back to work. Let's begin by putting an end to the welfare check by giving them a paycheck!

Let me tell you the truth, workfare does not work because when i had to collect medicaid the and attend the job center the vast majority of people there were functionally illiterate so even a car wash job they might be unqualified to do.

Want to end welfare abuses, make any meat fish pork chicken etc. over $5 lb not eligible for food stamps. no more prime rib or lobster....

second make all recipients sit in class 15 -20 hours a week and learn how to read, write and speak English. with weekly tests and homework.....no English no EBT card.

Ill bet at least 1/3 will quit the first month.

Why not keep the old bridge open until both new bridges are completed?

You just know that the second part of completing the bridge will rival the Second Avenue Subway in completion time.

Why is Cuomo suddenly the major project honcho? A real douchebag, taking credit for projects in the works for years and decades (2nd ave. subway, Kosciuzko Br.). If he wants credit for them, he should take the blame for their dragged out completion schedule too.

Might be where the new second section will be built.

And what's with jerk-off faccia bruta Cuomo's idiotic blue NYS-promo signs on the highways? I can't read WTF they're saying while I drive by at the legal speed. TOO MUCH VERBIAGE THEREON! Tear 'em down.

Dust particles?? That area is a contaminated nightmare. With the transfer stations and fuel soaked soil...The bridge getting blown up will be the best thing for it. It would be nice if all the tree hugging liberal hipsters took a walk on it minutes before detonation.
