Junked cars litter Jamaica street

From PIX11:

Crashed cars with no license plates are taking over the streets and sidewalks of a Queens community where residents reached out to PIX11 News for help cleaning up their neighborhood.

It’s hard enough for residents to find parking spots along 147th Place in Jamaica, Queens, and now they’re battling for space with busted cars making the streets and sidewalks look like a junkyard.

When PIX11 News arrived at the scene Wednesday, we spotted 11 plate-less cars parked on the city street and sidewalk. Many were dented; one was missing a front fender.

We were tipped off by Joe Moretti, a community watchdog who chronicles his neighborhood in the blog Cleanup Jamaica Queens Now.

JAMAICA: RECENTLY TOUTED AS THE NEXT HOT NEIGHBORHOOD. I wonder who paid whom for that designation. Could it have been someone at Queens Boro Hall? Hmmmm

Nothing new here

I guess I'm wrong in thinking there's some scrap (or real) value left in these junkers that the city could get if they started towing them away?

That designation was dredged by the same subhumans that christened Queens as the world's borough. Press monkeys in the NY times style and real estate sections and conde nast publications like Vogue, sellout whore elected hacks, predator developer's lobbyists and property speculators and supposed independent home and apt. websites like Propertyshark and streeteasy.

Aka The Gentrification Industrial Complex

Just got a message from one of my followers who walks by that street and hear it what he posted on my Facebook page this morning:

Ha! The cars are GONE!!!

Damn shame things only get down when the media gets involved.

What about the authorities checking the VIN numbers on these cars and persecuting their owners. Or if they removed the VIN number, the motor or chassis number should give the cops a clue of who dumped the car over there and therefore owners should be fined and have to bear the cost of the investigation, removal and disposing of the derelict vehicle.

The sad thing is that in 2 weeks they will all be back because there will be no follow up enforcement

Why don't these mopes just open up another garage. It seems they get a lot of business in whatever the hell they do with these cars.

Although I am starting to wonder if these cars get refurbished and wind up in those lots and showrooms on Atlantic avenue not far from there.

Can't believe Joe didn't blame Bush for the cars!

You know there are some intelligent and intuitive folks on here, but unfortunately some of the brain dead and ill-informed like the one above with idiotic statements and childish insults hiding behind anonymous attempting to pass off as "righteous", but in-fact are clueless.

By the way, today (6.17.16) we are doing a follow-up story on this auto body place.
