The Diocese of Brooklyn released on Feb. 15 its list of living and deceased clergy who were determined to have been credibly accused of sexual abuse of a minor.

The list spans over 166 years of the diocese. Diocesan officials believe that the accusations made against those on the list may be true.

Among the living priests that stand accused and have served in Queens include Brian Keller (St. Margaret, Middle Village), Andrezj Lukianiuk (Sacred Heart, Glendale) and Adam Prochaski (St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr, Ozone Park; Holy Cross, Maspeth). The full list contains names of clergy who have been convicted, who have admitted to sexual misconduct with a minor or who have had allegations determined credible by the Independent Diocesan Review Board.

“We know this list will generate many emotions for victims who have suffered terribly. For their suffering, I am truly sorry,” said Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio, leader of the Diocese of Brooklyn. “I have met with many victims who have told me that more than anything, they want an acknowledgment of what was done to them. This list gives that recognition and I hope it will add another layer of healing for them on their journey toward wholeness.”
According to the diocese, the number of incidents of clergy sexual abuse peaked in the 1960s and 1970s, however reports weren’t made until after 2002 following the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People was enacted. Reports also saw another surge in 2017 when the diocese started the Independent Reconciliation and Compensation Program (IRCP).

This has been going on for years (perhaps century's)and it includes nuns also.
All the church and Vatican does is transfer them to hide them from prosecution.
I know because my mother was a temp teacher at St.Leonards in Brooklyn.

A good half priests were drunks and homosexuals. I remember one named Ernie or was it Rooney? completely wasted ringing all the doorbells on George street 2AM.
The superior nun in charge of the school let other nuns beat the kids with not paddles but STICKS. I was hit in the face with a thick wooden board on several occasions for not completing the usual 10 pages of homework or for protecting smaller kids being beaten. On several occasion's they would band this kids head against a blackboard (leaving marks, called him a clown)---his crime: making moaning noises. Turns out he (George) had a brain tumor and died @ Wyckoff Heights.
When the cops finally started investigating (because their own kids were coming home with bruises and black eyes but were to afraid too talk) the Dioceses of Brooklyn called everybody liars lawyered up hid all those accused, closed the school and eventually converted it to a drug rehab or something as it stands today.

Laws need to be changed with church organizations because they wont fix anything. This has been going on too long. The Catholic church should allow married priests and nuns in order to recruit from a cleaner larger pool. This pooling recruiting "reformed" pedophiles & felons from half way houses, mental intuitions, rehab facility's does not work.

Why aren't they allowed to be married ?

To answer the Anonymous above - the Catholic clergy - priests and nuns were not permitted to marry to insure that there would be no offspring (at least openly acknowledged) and no heirs. When they died their property went to the Catholic Church. With the orders that took vows of poverty, their assets went directly to the Mother House/ the Catholic Church. This is the way that the Catholic churches in various countries and the Vatican have amassed great wealth.

In Ireland, the church and the state were not separate until very recent times. The priest wielded great power and influence over the members of his parish in every matter including the pettiest and most mundane.

If you think that the Catholic Church is some how unique - take a look at the Greek Orthodox Church and it's relationship with politics in Greece.

Religion was created to oppress women. Some people say that includes men too.

"Why are people still practicing these "dungeons and dragons" superstitions"

To keep people in line. --don't forget mental manipulation through guilt & fear. Confess your sins to some priest in a box because god is watching
Most are all crazy hypocrites. I renounced my catholic religion in 1976, I wont even attend church for weddings and baptisms.
I honestly don't know who's worse at this point. These people, radical Islam or Scientology.
What pisses me off lately is how the Pope and church has been lobbing these old Irish Republican politicians to allow Mexico's and Central Americas illegals in to save Christianity in America. --"Bad Christian, going to hell if you don't" Half these old f_cks actually believe & fear this Vatican propaganda. Just like Sen John McCain as he neared the end and became a turncoat Benedict Arnold .
Result: All Americans of all denominations suffers and pay the price

Things have changed - there are no more nuns teaching and very few priests - Catholic schools today are safe places - as much as any other institution. I went to Catholic school from Kindergarten (1969) through HS (1982) and saw a few things that would shock someone today - but the degree or measures of abuse detailed hear? Nothing like that - EVER.

These priests as citizens of this country should all be arrested and put in jail.
Agreed, these are men in hiding from sexuality, not all of them but a good majority. I find it surprising how many parents still send their kids to be alter boys or Sunday School and after care programs. As a Catholic I do not. I made sure by the time my kids could understand that they know no one touches them there or shows them anything like this or asks them to touch. I also told them that we'd believe them no matter what and anything these people said were lies and to tell us right away not to keep any "secrets". It's a sad world we live in where these individuals prey on children instead of getting the help they need and we look away in the name of religion. I'd take a page from the bible and stone them to death, but that's just me.

The theory behind no priest being married is that they can devote 100% of their attention to God and the Church. Some theories are better than others.

Don't forget the Greek cult which strated in 1978 Flushing when they ejected their founding pastor. is the website about one of their victims.
More than prey on children, they also prey on elderly via credit card and elderly fraud.
They will even run up the credit cards of dead people after offering to donate their effects.

Celibacy derives from Augustine's Donatist notions of Original Sin (rejected by the Eastern Church, which holds Ancestral Sin instead). Augustine believed sin entered the world because man (the spirit) did not exercise control over woman (the flesh). The first written mandate requiring priests to be chaste came in AD 304. Canon 33 of the Council of Elvira stated that all"bishops, presbyters, and deacons and all other clerics" were to"abstain completely from their wives and not to have children." A short time later, in 325, the Council of Nicea, convened by Constantine, rejected a ban on priests marrying requested by Spanish clerics. Spain was first settled by Phoenician Punics from Carthage.

Do like Japan and use robot priests (google it, it is a ggas, even robot teachers).
Robots do all the shamanistic stuff
and don't molest children or argue with the parish council.

On the contrary wenches and blokes! The Greek church begat Islam and Communism by REJECTING Original Sin. See:

If Jesus told us to be like the children (Matt 18:3) how could he believe them to have Original Sin?

A 1984 Fuller Seminary survey of 1,200 ministers showed 1 in 5 theologically conservative pastors admitted to some sexual contact with a church member outside of marriage. More than two-fifths of “moderate” pastors and half of “liberal” ones acknowledged the same. A 1993 survey showed 6 percent of Southern Baptist pastors acknowledging sexual contact outside of marriage with someone in the congregation. from

Read Eric Metaxas Miracles. The former Catholic who converted Eric to Protestant described homosexual activity at his Catholic seminary which drove him to change faith. Faculty encouraged Ed to go to gay bars and Ed found his roommates fondling him while he was sleeping.

All this abuse is sprouting new religion:

Universal Audience of Ultimate Truth for Salvation

Ultimately all ethics depends on individual consideration, mandated in Leviticus 19:18 "Love your neighbor as yourself," also found in Confucius Analects 12:2, Buddhist Udana Vagna 5:1 and Matthew 7:1. Consistency is the hobgoblin of limited minds as God and Truth are incomprehensible (Isaiah 40:25) and dogma and ideology are idolatry which detracts from evidence based realism. This is why the only answer can be a question. All creativity and science is divine (1 Cor 3:5-9). Jesus opposed traditionalist Sadducees and fundamentalist Pharisees but embraced syncretic Samaritans. Jesus was nothing if not anticlerical “Do as they say, not as they do” (Mt 23:1). Isn’t it odd the fundamentalists quote scripture by number as if lawyers? Meek means tranquil, not humble. Meekness is devoid of the passion of just war which divides and obfuscates. (Jer 17:9, Eph 2:3)

Hades (Sheol) was a holding place from which Jesus freed us, not a banishment. "gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn". (Matthew 3:12 ) There is no purgatory, burning is into oblivion. "I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise." (Luke 23:43 ) Today! Saints intecede! If Jesus told us to be like the children (Matt 18:3) how could he believe them to have Original Sin? Mary CHOSE, by Free Will, to be sinless and surrendered herself to the service of God, as God long awaited (Luke 1:30). Luther said "Mary is rightly called not only the mother of the man, but also the Mother of God" (24:107) and "There can be no doubt that the Virgin Mary is in heaven. How it happened we do not know." (10:268). God lived in the Temple (Exodus 36:8) so as Mary bore God she replaced the Temple which was destroyed when she rose exactly on Tisha B'Av, the original lent of eating only fish because fish survived Noah’s flood.

God is beyond time and reason, not being limited by the dimensions that govern our world (Isaiah 57:15). God’s perspective on time is far different from man (Psalm 102:12, 24-27). God sees all of eternity’s past and eternity’s future, hence free will and predestination do not contradict. Since He is the Alpha AND the Omega, there can be no historical progression which is satanic anthropolatry. Parable of Talents (Matt 25:14-30) confirms the glory of capitalism over slothful envy of socialism. Parable of Warehouse is about being obsessed with what we have so we stop living. Superachievers aren't concerned with accumulation but with constant achievement, seeking to ever use their gifts to the fullest (Calvin Institutes 3.7.5). James 2:14-18,26 shows that while faith is the essential prerquisite, you cannot escape the need for works as well. Half the planet worships to the Psalms of David so stop renaming them as your own hymnals. A Republic of Judges was preferred by God over the Reign of Kings. (1 Sam 8:6-18) The clothing and responsibilities of the Cohens (chief priests) resembles the early bishops (overseers) and of rabbis with the pastors (presbyters, elders). Paul's word for fornication meant prostitution instead. Paul's word for masturbation meant malady. Paul's word for sycophant meant slander. Magog meant Mongol. Jesus came to fulfill not repeal the Law (Matt 5:17) as Pharisees were condemned because they syncretized vindictive Roman natural law over Jubilee redemptory Deuteronomy law. Moneychangers were racist about Roman coins. Redemptory confession is from 2 Chron 7:14 and Resurrection from Dan 12:2, Ezek 37:12-17, and Isaiah 26:19. Forgiveness is found in Isaiah 33:24, Isaiah 55:7, Jeremiah 3:22, Numbers 14,15, Leviticus 6,19,2 Samuel 14:14. Jesus used the lunar calendar, so why do you use the calendar of those that slew him and stole his religion.
