2-year beer beach suddenly becomes 4 months

From PIX11:

The lease for the pop-up beach is expected to run from June through September. In September, the owners of the lot will break ground, as planned, on a new residential building that will have affordable housing units.

Oh? That's interesting since they told the community board that they have a 2-year lease:

According to CB 5 District Manager Gary Giordano, Rockaway Brewing Company has secured a two-year lease with the owners of the Woodward Avenue corner property.

Maybe next year, instead of a sand beach they'll make a concrete foundation beach!

"The owners seem like they want to be respectful to the neighborhood, even though their idea seems quite out there and inventive," said Giordano.

(As evidenced by the fence behind you collapsing onto the sidewalk.)

Ridgewood can still take solace in the fact that a guy who rides his bike on the sidewalk and is threatening to wear a Speedo thinks this is a great idea.

That is some panoramic view of the manhattan skyline there.

It's quite an outrage that the community has to find a loophole to stop this, when it's certain that Rockaway Swillery and the predator developer surely had some lawyers to find them easily to stall building "affordable" housing there, especially since the city probably helped create them.

The timidity of that guy is appalling too. If he truly represents the people like that surly old guy there, he wouldn't parse his words and call it for the stupid and selfish idea this is.

And if Giordano thinks that because it shuts down at midnight there won't be hipshits milling and pissing around the area, then crawling up metropolitan ave yelling like feral cats, he's going to hear a lot of justified shit from the citizenry there.

This on the heels of decriminalizing public pissing and drinking. It's clear which folks clearly benefit from this. It's pretty fucked up that for years you would get locked up for these petty crimes and it takes a new generation of frivolous spending hipshits to get leeway for these vices.

Boycott Rockaway Brewery.

Is it a "boycott" if you already don't purchase/patronize the thing you're boycotting?

The neighborhood has another problem brewing not too far away with the Knockdown Center opening shortly with their brilliant idea. They held a concert once and the lack of respect from the crowds to the neighborhood was too much. Beer bottles left everywhere, the pissing, the vomiting, the parking anywhere they found a spot (hydrants, driveways, double parked). The fact that you could here people trying to score some pills afterwards to finish off their night. I don't blame the owners per say, "it's just business as usual for them" but it makes life miserable for those around this crap with no respect for long time residents of the community who have fought and paid for their quality of life.

Well yes wiseguy. Although it's certain the majority of crapper readers will not even bother searching for their brews, maybe there are some folks (maybe) that might pay a little attention and abstain from this crass and falsely advertised product whose owners are pure bred jackass assholes for even coming up with this supposed creative but inappropriate disruptive form of event planning.

It's certain that the cavalcade of creative mediocrity and drunken and pill laden stupidity knockdown center is somehow related to this too. Look out for the blue and purple busses, Molly select bus service.

Once again Boycott False Rockaway Brewery. Die hipshit scum. Solidarity for the true long time and presently suffering residents of Ridgewood

Fucking beach in the middle of the boroughs. Will there be surfing contests and kayak racing in Newton creek?

You cant have this today these kids are all messed up on drugs, these drugs like Coke, Molly and other shit allow them to drink 5X more and stay awake 20 hours. What you get is a crowds of zombies.
This is going to be a disaster that may go on for years, how many months is the temporary liquor license ? Did they apply for a permanent one?
I would liquor licenses are public record and should be available someplace
