Dromm to introduce immigrant voting rights bill

From Newsday:

The City Council is drafting legislation to let noncitizens vote in New York City's municipal elections, a move that could bolster the clout of recent immigrants in races across the five boroughs.

The policy, if enacted, would make the city one of just eight jurisdictions in the nation, and by far the largest, where U.S. citizenship isn't required to cast a ballot, according to iVote NYC, a coalition of immigrant advocates and allied groups that supports the change.

Dromm said a bill is being readied and conversations with the mayor's office would begin soon. The change would cover only New York City residents with legal immigration status.

Should have to go to public for vote as a referendum item. Council would not be allowed to pass bill on its own.

So then what is becoming a citizen worth anymore?

Why?

No! We need people to become citizens before they can vote.

What's wrong with Dromm??

He's going to create even more resentment and racial problems.

Who voted for this moron?

Better yet, let's see what other morons support this nonsense.

"Who voted for this moron?"

He ran unopposed last time, just like most of the other morons.

The Jackson Heights gay crowd put him in office.

You have more rights as a non citizen these days. It's us tax paying citizens that are giving these third worlders a free ride.

Let's take ALL the incentives to become an American citizen out of the way. No need to be a citizen, no need to learn English, no need to follow laws. We can all be citizens of the world. Sounds like a futuristic novel.

Its at the point where you have more rights and benefits as an illegal than you do as a U.S. citizen.

It was a bit humorous before watching the stupidity of these lawmakers and their absurd ideas, but now its just down right damaging.

Flood his office will phone calls and emails....

He is beginning to look like one of those stately homos of England. Since Quentin Crisp has passed to his reward, Danny can now claim that title.

Referendum? Bloomberg gave himself a third term without the required referendum. No referendums will be seen when our city autocrats do not want them. Liberty was won by blood. NYC voters need a good transfusion of the rich red stuff!

Look at the old clown...like a minister at his pulpit. "Peace be unto all citizens and non citizens alike. Give unto these unfortunates voting privileges that our forefathers had died to secure. May the Lord bless all of my straight, gay, lesbian, trans gender , and space alien children, Now, get out there and vote (for me)"!

This disgruntled school teacher has come a long way to spit upon the sacred voting rights of American citizens. When the Democratic machine has run out of voters, maybe they will try to pass a bill letting other countries vote in our elections. That will be a cold day in a Pittsburgh blast furnace while I'm still breathing!

"Flood his office will phone calls and emails...."

It's a nice idea, but the only calls to his office that COUNT (As far as he's concerned) are the ones from his constituents.

What everyone is missing is that once non-citizens gain the right to vote they will force the City Council to allow them to run for elective office and eventually our city will be ruled them.

This is a slippery slope that Albany will inevitably follow and then Washington.

One day, we'll have a Mayor who cannot speak English, so we'll need a translator at his/hers news conference.

ARE YOU F***ING KIDDING ME???!!!!
Why do our representatives NOT represent us? They get in and then go rouge. Why are they more interested in non-Americans than Americans? I really don't understand what's going on and am glad I am old and will die before this becomes a totally hispanic country.

"...so we'll need a translator at his/hers news conference."

Listen closely to the boy mayor when he is speechifying. To understand his drift you need an English translator.

Who checks the citizenship of those voting now?
If everyone voting is a citizen why do we need voting info in umpteen different languages?

Forget about calling Dromm. Call your local Council Member.

And then they wonder why there are so many people leaving New York. Even upstate everything has to be translated into Spanish. Are there any states left with the balls to enforce English only?

Someday in the near future it will be a Crime to fly an American Flag... I know a NYC Parks employee that was told he could not put an American flag on his work truck. Pretty friggin sad already .

I am permanent resident and I do not think I should have the right to vote unless becoming citizen!

Does anyone have a yardstick? I wanna measure how far Dumb Dromm's head is up his butt.

Dromm is a dickhead. Ask him about the bath house where he was a gopher boy with a smaller piece of stick.

The fact that he is now a city council member shows how far we've fallen as a society.

All of the NYC councilors are dopes. Look at Liu and that racist pig Charles Baron who is succeeded by his wife for crying out loud.

There are 50 Councilors, half the US Senate. Every neighborhood gets to elect their top moron, so we have 50 morons.

If citizens actually cared about the city and each other and if 90-95% voted the city would be in great shape but sadly the few who vote are greedy, selfish and lazy and want Free Shit, so they vote for dopes who promise them free shit.

So sad.

I have never seen Dromm do anything that was not absurd and downright harmful to U.S. citizens. How about a free one-way ticket to Cuba for this traitor?

This is what you get when you don't exercise your right to vote..

Come'ere and give me a multiracial neo-Tammany-Hall hug, you big boy!
