Draft Scope DCP of Proposed Zoning Changes - Review
Attached, with great thanks and appreciation to Paul Graziano, is Paul's analysis of the subject plan. This five page document boils down the mayor's proposed changes to NYC zoning that will be heard at Wednesday's scoping meeting.
PLEASE DON'T FORGET THERE WILL BE A RALLY. PRESS CONFERENCE AT 3PM WEDNESDAY ON THE STEPS OF CITY HALL.
After you read Paul's synopsis, or the whole 166 pages, we hope you will understand the urgency and come out Wednesday. As civics we have all fought for dozens of years to protect and systain our communities - of whatever nature - from over development. The mayor's (or should we say, developers) plan will dramatically affect the shape and size of our neighborhoods forever.
We hope to see a huge, city-wide turnout on Wednesday. The scoping meeting will follow at 4pm at 22 Reade Street, only a few blocks away.
Once again, our thanks to Paul for this monumental effort.
Richard Hellenbrecht, V.P.
DiBlasio and the liberal Democrats believe in diversity, gone will be the high priced home of the majority white closenit community that hides its racism through 2 parent homes and good schools, private parking and safety
THOSE DAYS ARE OVER COMRADE!!
THE SOCIAL JUSTACE CRUSADERS ARE REVED UP AND READY TO DISPENCE
EQUALITY FOR ALL!!!
Next time get off your lazy ass and vote Sadly it may be too late.
Thanks for exposing this Crap !
We are so lucky to have Paul Graziano on our side. The city tried to do this about 10 years ago and Paul let fight and we won.
So here we go again.
Everyone should attend this. It affects everyone who lives in Flushing.
Thanks Paul. Developers will have a field day with all of these proposals. White flight will ramp up leaving only a hollow shell of what once was a mecca for the hard working middle class.
Dump De Blasio for dumping on our neighborhoods. Our current mayor is a worse hood than Robert Moses ever was. Moses' 1961 zoning resolution destroyed whatever contextual safeguards that we had. It took years to dig out of his tyranny. Now we are being thrown back to the Moses era by an unfit mayor. Vote the SOB out. No second term for a turncoat who defecated on his own voting base. This latest REBNY backed assault upon our quality of life should not go unchallenged. Deluge your council member's district office with demands to bury this bad idea. Are you listening councilman Vallone?

Paulie Vallone is busy having his head buffed.
Mandatory inclusionary zoning
Is what this is all about
Look it up,each zip code will be judged and rewarded for having a minority population.
It used to be illegal to Block Bust but when the government does it, it is social justice
White Flight from NY will start slow then hit rapid pace as those with any value left in their homes try to get out but it will be to late.
I found this to be stupid yet amusing:
"Creating a new lower-density bulk envelope for senior housing and care facilities in R3-R5 zones. The buildings would be able to be 45' to 65' in height (rather than the 35' to 40' height limits which exist today)..."
Okay, how are seniors and those in care facilities supposed to get to the top floors in these buildings when the elevators are not working?
Also, with the elimination of parking for seniors how would they get to the supermarkets, doctor appointments, relatives, religious services, etc.
Perhaps they would be farmed off to Hillary Clinton's camps for seniors.
Let's add 2 floors to every building on Park Ave and Central Park West for low income housing as a test run and if it is successful then expand out into the bouroughs.
True Housing Equality begins with getting me, a low income, lower middle class guy a small apartment subsidized by punishing the rich at
100 Park Ave.
I want to be Madonna's neighbor!!!
If a senior cannot walk up to his or her floor when the elevators stop, then "Carousel" them ("Logan's Run" reference).
100 Park Avenue is an office building.
But I get your point.
Which Council members are not the Developers' friends? Let's not single out Vallone only.
This is "first lady's" idea. That is what De Blasio's wife is being called ...LOL! Bill cannot produce an original thought of his own. He looks to promptings from REBNY and his family. We got a mayor who sleeps late and falls asleep on the job.
Who can guess which council member had nothing to say about today's rally??
Name rhymes with balloney.
Vallone is a very big problem in my nabe. He is, after all, a developers' lobbyist. At least he is out in the open about it and is man enough not to wear a hair rug. Bravo for that, councilman. Uh, P.S. He is anti landmarking.
My Sicilian neighbor's father used to say that when the government is intent on screwing you ....you have only two choices. You can decide whether you want to drop your pants first....or remove your shirt first and then drop your pants. Oooooo, that hurts! Participate LOUDLY in your government or else learn to grin and bear it,
I'm surprised that Mafioso Vallone hasn't hired a hit on me yet.
