To sit or not to sit

NYC has learned that their altruistic intent
to provide benches didn't work very well
with our increasingly uncivilized population.

They often get alternative uses like:

3rd world moms' diaper changing stations;
derelicts' toilets; drug dealers marketplaces; etc.

Street furniture provides opportunity!

To hell with the "sitting" area. Plant some nice trees, butterfly bushes, and coneflowers.Add a pretty fountain with some water.
This could at least attract some birds and butterflies. Endangered species need every square inch they can get. New York is on a major bird migration route. Amazing things show up in Astoria. I have seen warblers, hummingbirds and pheasants here.
