Liu still raising lots of campaign cash

From the Daily News:

Embattled City Controller John Liu raised nearly $600,000 in the past six months for his mayoral bid — despite a federal probe into his campaign finances.

“I am deeply moved and gratified by the faith and support shown by so many voters and supporters,” Liu said in a statement released Friday.

Liu’s campaign haul — boosting his campaign warchest to $2.5 million — was impressive for a candidate determined to stay in the race despite the taint of scandal, but he’s fallen behind Public Advocate Bill de Blasio, who picked up $800,000 in the same period and now has around $3 million.

Both candidates are still trying to catch up with City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, whose warchest has reached about $5.8 million.

And if Anthony Weiner wants to jump in, he still has $4.5M.

"No one in this world, so far as I know-and I have searched the record for years, and employed agents to help me-has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people."

HL Mencken

Every dime tossed into the wormhole of John Liu is taken from morons and traitors so tt's no loss.

Happily Liu will never be mayor but spending money on a pointless campaign does help local printers and TV stations.

I wonder how he feels, now that Grace meng is going to be a Congresswoman. If he didn't try to raise funds illegally, County would have probably picked him, and not Meng, to run for Ackerman's seat.

Liu continues to stomp around the room still trying to save face

That's his legal defense fund
