Water is a necessity of life. We should not have to pay anything for it. Just another government scam. Water should be free. We pay enough taxes to sustain the water reservoirs and tunnels.

"We pay enough taxes to sustain the water reservoirs and tunnels."
That doesn't make water free.

"Water is a necessity of life. We should not have to pay anything for it."
You talk as if clean water is a god given right, yet there are many regions of the world where clean water is precious and scarce. Be thankful you were not born in one of them.

Water should be free.

True that. It should be free of fluoride. How much does the city charge for poisoning us?

Great logic.

I don't recall paying for water years ago. It was free then. That is, until these politicians decided to tax the crap out of us and charge for it. Our water rates go up every year. The water still tastes the same. Just another way for the government to suck the dollars out of us.

Really? I turn on the tap and feel like I'm diving into a chlorinated pool!!! Get rid of the chemicals 'cause we don't want to pay for them!

Move if you don't like the taste of NYC water.

Yeah! Be complacent and obey the authority. Do NOT ask questions and accept what you're given...and you'll like it (or else).

At these rates (that will go higher) its better to install a well.
The investment is around $5K- $8K for the drilling, pump, tank and softener bottles
In most of Queens you need to go down around 60-100 feet. The waters cleaner then Long Islands (no lawn chemicals or cesspools).
You can then just use the city water for the ice maker and put a drinking spigot on you sink if you wish

The cost of filing 314C, "Application for Permit" has gone from $75 to $300 for the permit.
I'm told all tolls are going up 50% at midnight.
California tried all these tactics including $1600 bi-annual car registration fees and still went bankrupt.

Try the water that comes out of the faucets in San Diego if you think the water here is bad.

That water actually smells and changes color of you leave it sit more then a day

Hell I'm afraid to eat anyplace in California.
Half the people handling food have no papers, carry TB or live with others who carry sorts of disease.

They protect them better then whales swimming Sea World inside the borders of that oozing sore on the planet.
I was recently back there for the 2011 NAMM show in Anahime its like Jackson Heights Corona everyplace except Disneyland and Beverly Hills
