Dumping outside Woodside LIRR station

I was at Woodside Station recently and noticed there was a lot of garbage outside the fence along Trimble Road.

As you'll notice, this did not seem to be a problem several years back when the Google Maps truck toured the area. (below)

I contacted Council Member VanBramer's office and got this response: "I have reported this area to New York City Community Cleanup in order to have the street cleaned. The Department of Sanitation will also be contacted to send enforcement officials to address the illegal dumping."

Hopefully, this gets cleaned up soon. Looking forward to the "after" photos.

Passing the buck.

How come the guys on the garbage trucks who pass this site 2x/week don't report this mess when they come back to the garage? Another instance of "Not my job"? Is it Van Bramer's job to phone this in or is it Van Bramer's job to investigate the a-t-t-i-t-u-d-e of the Sanitworkers, hmnnn?

Whose "job" is it?.

does anyone actually care about this?
please note all the tree pits in Woodside full of automotive parts, the jackpot babies used diapers, cigarette butts, fast food wrappers and the kabob sticks used by the Mexicans who sell mango and assorted other trash. Illegal immigrants think nothing of throwing their garbage on the ground, they teach their children to litter.

Autie they vote Democratic or make good photo op opportunities for the Democracks so that is all that matters.

Politics is not to serve you but make money and build resumes.

Van Bramer only cares about Sunnyside, his home base, and the development projects going up in LIC and Dutch Kills.

No hipters, not his problem - or perhaps people phoned it in and his staff is very selective in whom they spend time with.

Afterall, he is Crissy Quinns buddy and we know that that is about eh?

Re throwing garbage on the ground.

Reminds me when I was driving around in Mexico many years ago. Sunday night in front of the church plaza. Everyone comes out to fiesta. How quaint I thought. Until it was all over. Garbage covered the ground covering the 4 compass points. I never saw so many discarded corn cobs in my life. A basura bonanza. Mexico is a veritable dreck hole.

But back to my original point. Why do the NYC highly paid sanitation workers ignore this on their rounds?

"highly paid sanitation workers"
did you know that the starting salary
is 33k yr? top base pay after 6 yrs near 70k yr.

They have been downsizing DSNY for years(do more with less). They have
only hired around 600 new sanitation workers over the past 4 years.

Take the next DSNY exam George, there is no age limit....

The garbageman rides hanging onto the back of the garbage truck. The truck passes the befouled, litter-strewn areas. He says to himself "That mess is a shame. Look at what the pigs have done to the neighborhood". The truck enters the garage and the guy gets off. No report of what he has seen is handed in. The guy washes his hands, gets in his car, and goes to the bank to deposit his fat check. (Not to worry though. Van Bramer will ride to the rescue. And even get his picture taken up on the horse.)

For what the job is, and for what little is required of them (i dont think you need a Masters degree), 33k to start (plus 2x that in value of benefits) is not too bad.

However, 70k after just six years is insane. What kind of job has a yearly raise of 6-7k???

There are people with BA/MA/PhD who make less than that.

You simply CANNOT sustain a system where you are paying white-collar money for blue-collar work.

Sanitation should clean this up but that means more work for them.

Take a look at some of the people that live in Woodside and this mess won't surprise you.

Let the yuppies, hipsters, and Manhattanites move in (if they ever do) and every piece of trash will be cleaned off the street in a heartbeat.

WALK BEHIND A SANITATION TRUCK SOMEDAY - DO YOU THINK YOU CAN DO THAT?

THE WET BEHIND THE EARS POLS AND THEIR FRIENDS MAKE IRRESPONSIBLE COMMENTS LIKE THIS (REMEMBER WHAT THEY SAID ABOUT CON ED WORKERS THAT NEARLY GOT THEM LYNCHED A FEW YEARS AGO?)

THE FACT IS NO ONE IS MAKING ANY MONEY ON THIS PROPERTY AND NO CAMPAIGN DONATIONS NEED BE REPAID.

NOW IF IT WAS SOME SILLY TRUSTAFARIAN WHOSE BEAUTY SLEEP IS INTERRUPTED BECAUSE THEY PREVAILED UPON DADDY TO BUY A COOP NEXT TO A TRAIN YARD, YOU WOULD HAVE ENOUGH POLS TO SHOW UP TO PASS LEGISLATION.

HERE?

NO ONE IMPORTANT.

SANIT WORKERS CLEAN UP WHERE THEY ARE TOLD. THE POLS MAY LIKE DAY LABORERS BUT THEY ARE NOT TOO KEEN ON HAVING SANIT CLEAN UP AFTER THEM.

I dunno....that looks clean compared to Flushing!

Councilman "Jimmy" only cares about gay issues like Councilman "Danny" does.

And Chrissy Quinn's a ladies lady.

End of story.

Gay nabes are usually clean anyway.
Those prissy housekeepers are meticulous about their abodes.
