They're always cited after it's too late

From CBS 2:

The New York City Department of Buildings on Friday ordered a Brooklyn laundromat to remove an illegal parking where a young girl was fatally struck by a vehicle last month.

Residents say they’ve complained about the parking lot before because cars have no driveway across to the street, forcing people to drive perilously onto the sidewalk to park.

The DOB called for the immediate removal of the parking lot, which the NYPD already has blocked off.

DOB records reveal that this laundromat was established in 2002. Since that time, the DOB has been visiting to cite the owner for an elevator violation. I guess they failed to notice the parking lot on the way in for all these years.

Shame on all of you. How dare you tell third worlders where they can and can't park and can and can't drive. You must all be a bunch of racist sexist homophobic xenophobic Nazis who want to kill six million Jews.

The city doesn't care until shit happens. There were dozens of complaints. I hope the family sues the city for millions.

"Hoping to shut it down".....................what the fuck kind of response is that from a city agency. The damn thing is totally illegal, people have complained many times about this and as usual not a damn thing has been done. In cases like this the Mayor, the Borough President, the elected officials of that community, NYPD and DOB, should be there in front of the camera just like they would do for some idiotic ribbon cutting ceremony and a hard edge reporter should just fire questions at them, demanding answers (not bullshit) and why this has been going on and that a permanent solution be instated immediately. If such a thing would even take place in Park Slope, I bet immediately something would have been done. AGAIN, this city is NOT the fake liberal progressive city it claims to be. A heavy immigrant, people of color community gets no justice, so how is that liberal progressiveness.

No Builder's Pavement Plan permit. No permit for a curb cut.

Quite unbelievable, actually. Complaints filed in June, 2018 for lack of certificate of occupancy and no permits for curb cut ...

While watching this story, I didnt realize just how many Hispanics live in bushwick anymore. Bushwick has really changed over the years. According to census. 67 percent are Hispanic there now and I thought queens held the reigns for the most "diverse" borough. Anyway, there are illegal parking lots all over the place in NYC but the city fails to recognize them. The DOT never does anything useful until someone is killed.

The DOB is complicit in the slaughter of that little girl. There should have been no way a bullshit parking lot was able to exist there. It doesn't even have ample room for egress.

And the cops did not even charge that bitch for running over the child too. What the hell is going on with the NYPD? Is there a plan to keep crimes stats low by not reporting them or arresting anyone? As this and the murders of Junior in the Bronx as he bled out on the street and that guy who got shot in Brooklyn when the cops drove away show? (But when one of their own get shot like the other day in BedStuy, they deploy 2 precincts and some tactical tank from a dystopian graphic novel)

Since there is a record of complaints and the city has failed to act, the city should be held criminally liable.

"The city doesn't care until shit happens Guess what -- they still don't. Is it any wonder why so many basements and attics are illegally chock full of tenants

With the way the mayor is trying to remove every parking spot in the City, these illegal lots may soon be the only places left to park.

Jw llc: The cops do as little as possible. They have no contract, are under the thumb of a Federal monitor and an out of control ccrb .
Rookies get 2 weeks vacation until they complete 6 years. So don’t expect too much, you and the rest of nyc are on your own.

Hey folks, your Mayor just took an illegal plane ride for $3 million dollars of your money, he just illegally crossed the U.S. Mexican border to pan for the press. You have a criminal running your city. You think he really cares about traffic regulations and permits to park? C'mon!
