King of the hill, top of the heap!

From Metro:

New Yorkers may feel like this is one of the best cities in America, but a new report has named New York City one of the worst-run cities in the United States.

New York City ranked as the third-worst-run city in the country according to a WalletHub study published on Monday.

This is the second year in a row New York landed near the bottom on WalletHub’s ranking of the best-run cities. Out of 150 cities measured on a variety of “quality of services,” New York came in at number 148, above only Detroit and Washington, D.C. Gulfport, Mississippi and San Fransisco came in above New York, rounding out the top five worst-run cities.

WalletHub's list looks at how effective the local leadership is, but how can that be measured?

"One way is by determining a city’s operating efficiency," per the report. "In other words, we can learn how well city officials manage and spend public funds by comparing the quality of services residents receive against the city’s total budget."

The study’s “quality of services” score looked at different details across several categories: financial stability, education, health, safety, economy and infrastructure and pollution.

New York fared well in the safety area, but its finances and economic issues dragged down its overall score. According to the report, New York has some of the highest long-term outstanding debt.

The report also dinged New York City when it came to education. The high school graduation rate here is 74.3 percent, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced in February.

NYC is becoming ghettostan under this pos

Ghetto or paradise....depends on which part of NYC you live in and how much money you have. It's that way in EVERY city.

BUT, with a socialist mayor, De Bum is giving the key to NYC away to ANY groups who will vote for him.

That's politics....and THAT will never change!

But the luxury towers...
But the privatization of public and park spaces...
But the millions of transients overflowing the western shorelines of Queens and Brooklyn and the island of Manhattan.
Most of all, but the vibrancy...

But we've the greatest city in the world since 9/11...

Less than 2/3 of high school students graduate? Shocked it's that many given the affirmative action teachers, para professionals, principals and vice principals that put ghetto in the schools. When students don't sit in their seats, scream, yell, threaten other students, menace teachers and no one holds them responsible that's what happens.

The problem is the city and the mayor continue to put people on the payroll and there will be a price to pay as these individuals retire and receive pensions and continued medical coverage. When the stock markets are up you can cover this but when they drop ( which they will) the taxpayers are going to be on the hook.

As Margaret Thatcher once said " The problem with socialism is eventually you run out of other peoples money"

NYC's high school diploma does not even worth the paper where it is printed. My friend's son, his PE teacher told him that he was going to fail him since he doesn't participate at all or even "move' during PE classes, guess what..The school still passed him with a "D-"...Even Regents Exams are now a scam where a 30%(fail) equal a 65% (pass). Education is now a race to the bottom.

Bill doesn't even know his own last name. Where'd he graduate?

And yet the mayor doesn't give a damn. he prefers to spend his weekend at Bernie's cause once his term is up he will have to go on the unemployment line. Maybe uncle Bernie has a part-time job in place for him. By the way check out this article:

The Millenials now think global warming is irreversible
and plan to wantonly party away the last days

It's quite funny reading some comments in older articles claiming how NYC is trying to "stoop to Portland and Seattle's low" but you are able to exercise your gun rights in those cities without having to ask permission from mommy government and you are actually trusted as adults to be able to smoke extracts from a specific plant.

Hes such a dummy. I could have told wallethub this information ever since mayor dumbdumb first became mayor years ago. The idiot liberals get what they vote for. Idiot liberals voting+illegals voting= crappy city. Simple equation!

Unless the revolution comes by the excluded masses by the former middle class and employed poor.

I have been saying that for years. It is quite obvious now. The same can be said for all those republican senate and congressional hacks that are not running (Hatch, Ryan, et al) after they got their wet dream oligarch welfare tax cut bill passed.

Let any teacher attempt to discipline their students, tell them to sit down or be quiet, put their cell phones away, etc.--normal teacherly things--and that teacher will be brought up on corporeal punishment charges for verbal abuse. Guaranteed. And the students well know this, so anything goes, green light is ON.

Don’t worry about the graduation rate. I see him lowering the bar He will make it so low that 110% graduate.

The POS mayor is giving the store away and the people paying for it are packing their bags.

Can you blame us? You Boomers had everything handed to you, and squandered it all, leaving us with nothing but endless debt, a decaying society, and a dying planet.

Good for you "Millenials", you're right on target the hypocritical, lazy, wasting boomers never knew what to do and have contributed more than any generation to destroying NYC and our country.

Speaking as a Generation X'er here..

The baby boomers did indeed have it handed to them and because they have mommy/daddy issues, they had to crap all over it.

Some cool music and free love won't solve it all though,
and while they turned into yuppies in the 80's, our cynical generation just sat back and took it all in. This division started under Reagan because they couldn't stand father figures any longer..and so they sought to tear it all down. Same with Nixon before him.

Bill Clinton, GW Bush, Obama, Trump...all baby boomers.

...at least Trump has the sensibility of a Gen X'er understanding that the world is basically out to screw you, especially if you're the USA.

We tried giving it all away, that was the ultimate Boomer credo. Like Lenon said
"...imagine all the people". Nice song. Reality is different, however, because all the people aren't all that nice and many just want to get over on you and erase you from the planet altogether, along with all the nice animals like White Rinos and Yellow Tigers.

Now the Millennials ...lord help us...they've decided that tattoos and socialism will lead us to the promised land..but wasn't that the problem that Moses had to deal with in the Desert? A wild bunch taken to graven images and working as slaves.
No wonder we got the 10 Commandments from all that.

Live and learn.
