Flushing & Jamaica Stations to undergo renovations

From NY1:

As renovations continue at Penn Station, the state announced Wednesday an improvement plan for dozens of Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) stations, including two in Queens.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the state is investing $5.6 billion to transform 39 LIRR stations.

He said the much-needed improvements will strengthen transportation infrastructure and increase rider capacity by 80 percent.

The Jamaica Station will undergo a major face lift, as it will be upgraded with higher speed switches and new signals.

Aging platforms are expected to be replaced, and some will be expanded to accommodate full-length, 12-car trains.

The station is also projected to be equipped with heated waiting areas and Wi-Fi.

Meantime, Flushing Station is expected to undergo general improvements.

This is wonderful!

The Governor is spending almost SIX BILLION DOLLARS of YOUR hard earned tax moneys for the sole purpose of buying votes, knowing his popularity is in the "crapper".

And forget not his presidential ambitions!

How much will that cost "We the People"?

We must end these political dynasties!!!

I'm tired of hearing about all these billions going to mta. When are we going to put some money into our aging and potholed roads and highways that are clogged with traffic?

SO IF $2.2 MILLION DOLLARS GAVE US A GARBAGE STREWN & OUTDOOR HOMELESS SHELTER AT RUFUS KING PARK, WHAT WILL BILLIONS SPENT ON JAMAICA LIRR GET US.

Just think, a measly $2.2 million dollars on Rufus King Park gave us a even bigger garbage dump and a major outdoor homeless shelter, can you imagine what billions on the Jamaica LIRR will get us.

SURE, pump all this money into Jamaica, while still leaving it a homeless, drug addict, crime ridden, filthy, ghetto nonsense community.

Third world types are hard on civic assets. Come to think of it, they are pretty rough on housing stock too. But they vote correctly so all is forgiven.

We can take money away from first world capital stock to take care of third world needs.
