De Blasio donor pleaded guilty to bribery

From the NY Times:

A campaign donor to Mayor Bill de Blasio secretly pleaded guilty in federal court to bribery, admitting that he used his contributions to the mayor to try to win favorable lease terms for a restaurant he owned on city property, newly unsealed court records show.

While the court papers included no charges against Mr. de Blasio or other city officials, a federal criminal information in the case makes it clear that the donor, Harendra Singh, got something in return.

The court documents said that the mayor took steps to benefit Mr. Singh in exchange for the contributions, and that an unnamed senior aide to Mr. de Blasio arranged a meeting to pressure a city agency to offer more favorable terms to Mr. Singh.

Last March, federal prosecutors who had investigated Mr. de Blasio’s fund-raising decided not to bring criminal charges against the mayor based on what they described as a high burden of proof and the challenge of proving corruption without “evidence of personal profit.”

Mr. Singh’s plea hearing occurred in a sealed Long Island courtroom before United States District Court Judge Sandra J. Feuerstein on Oct. 17, 2016; Mr. Singh said that his donations were intended as part of a quid pro quo, according to a transcript of the hearing.

“I gave these donations to the elected official in exchange for efforts by that official and other city officials to obtain a lease renewal from the city agency for my restaurant on terms that were favorable to me,” he said.

Mr. Singh did not name the mayor, and the court documents refer instead to an “Official #2” who received the donations; various details in the documents make it clear that the unnamed official is Mr. de Blasio.

This case coincides with the indictments of two Long Island politicos that de Faustio somehow managed to avoid. The fact that those two are Republicans and the fact that Singh arranged a sweet deal to renovate Magnano's house and give his wife a meaningless job is very similar to the sweeter deal to hook de Faustio up for a big party on his riverfront restaurant in L.I.C.. Yet the corrupt mayor was able to escape an indictment (for now).

Who knows who else attended that party and what went on there. But it might be safe to surmise that any big developer or agent of the city (which Singh apparently was, since he had access to city office meetings) were partying and mingling with each other on that enchanted and expensive evening.

Singh is a total scumbag, but his attempts to get favored treatment and bailouts for his debts pales in comparison with what's going on with the Walentas, who are trying to force a trolley to be built that no one wants and have got a recent deal to build on a NYCHA parking lot and that guy who got a cherry deal to build an affordable luxury tower on a NYCHA playground in Yorkville.

Now we should know why Olatoye is sticking around and de Faustio has managed to evade indictment.

DeBlasio will claim that he is naïve, doesn't know anything about this.

The criminal enterprise at City Hall is just as entrenched as it is upstate, in the 'other' empire of openly practiced corruption, graft and greed. The kakistocracy of epic (and willfully errant) government fail has a new threshold of arrogance (and media silence and complicity) that is now unprecedented, to date.

As a result, New York State remains in a toxic 'malaise' of the worst kind of political raw sewage, where even Preet Bharara (and his timely but stilted message of 'Stay tuned...' has no persuasive effect in jailing the most heinous criminals of city and state government).

In all of my years of living in New York City, never have I seen this kind of 'Hijack-and-Hostage' holding pattern that continues to punish every single overburdened, fed up and disgusted taxpayer, whilst lording privilege, power, unjust enrichment and PRIVATE SPLENDOR on to the kakistocracy of 'Monetary Locusts', versus PUBLIC SQUALOR, adversity, beggary, obscurity, fear, paralysis and quiet desperation on a rank-and-file proletariat that actually WORKS for a living, as the shadow puppet government henchmen are STILL all about ALL PAY and NO WORK!

The Mayors a cuckold.
His wife prefers women, and he is so wracked by white guilt he can't bring himself to fire a black woman.

He knew, that's why they killed him with a mind programmed assassin.
Was not good for business.
Our insane mayor cancells the WH visit, instead of benefiting from the fact that we have a NYC President he is grandstanding for partisan politics. He is also very stupid, your dogs and cats have more common sense than this nonsense blabbing idiot.
Well done Bozo. Trying to outdo Boss Tweed?

According to the NY Post, DeBozo claims that the donor pleaded guilty for no reason!
