Brooklyn hotel seized by sheriffs
From the Daily News:
New York City sheriffs have seized control of a troubled Bay Ridge hotel — and the hotel may get shut down after the owner failed to pay more than $100,000 in fines, according to court documents and beleaguered residents.
The 87-year-old owner of The Prince Hotel, Moses Fried, has been hit with dozens of violations by the city’s buildings department since 2014 for illegal construction, unsafe conditions and not following guidelines for how long a resident is permitted to stay.
Fried denied the accusations at a hearing in October, but did not offer a rebuttal, according to a complaint filed by the city in Brooklyn Supreme Court Monday that seeks $114,000 in penalties.
Calls to Fried’s Miami Beach, Fla., home were not returned.
Residents who live near the hotel, listed under Bay Ridge Prince, LLC., have called for the city to shut it because of years of criminal activity.
Coming soon: homeless shelter!

coming soon homeless shelter.
Sorry crapper, the correct term is supportive housing.
And why not Bay Ridge, this city has obsession with dumping everything undesirable as further south as possible. Even in Brooklyn ™
Homeless shelter for sure: the City has an "emergency" and so can open "beds" at will, anywhere, with no review.
it's cloer to $400,000 in violations. $380K to be exact. dating back to 2007. way to stay on top of things DOF
and if it does become a shelter the city pays them $3,000.00 a month to live there -
There will be no shelter in that part of Bay Ridge. Use to live on 100 Street and there was always talk on why was their a hotel not to far away from the clubs close by. We know what the makeup of that part of town is. The place will be shutdown and turned into expensive co-ops.
The makeup is hard working people, gfy.
there is a seedy section of queens blvd between 69th Street & Broadway.. weren't there protests over several supportive housing (aka shelters) on that stretch as well as that notel motel the westway on the Grand Central Pkwy service road near the BQE entrance??
Isn't Bay Ridge now being gentrified since all of Park Slope and now Sunset Park have priced out many of the right out of college hipsters who are struggling on $80,000 a year ?? That isn't much these days for a tenement apartment in East NY or Brownsville. I would figure the land in bay ridge where that flea bag motel is its too valuable and another cookie cutter condo or luxury rental building would be built on the land

no that would be in southern queens near JFK near the Belt Parkway area
Back at you gfy.. White people live their and thats no secrect. Public knowledge.
