NYC gets money from congress for transportation projects
From NY1:
The city is getting more than $338 million from the federal government for its two main infrastructure projects.
Rep. Carolyn Maloney said Tuesday that the Appropriations Committee's budget for the 2013 fiscal year includes more than $123 million for the Second Avenue subway.
The amount represents the final funding of the government's overall $1.3 billion support for the project, promised in an agreement signed in 2007.
Meanwhile, the East Side Access project connecting the Long Island Railroad to Grand Central Terminal will receive $215 million.

Don't waste the money MTA - the second avenue project is very important and as far as LI residents - I could not care less.
I am SO SO sick and tired of this. "Infrastructure" in NYC is not solely located in Manhattan or hipster havens!
Great. I guess. The unions have already spent that money on increasing their pensions and benefits.
Everyone else gets money from their congressional delegation to benefit their communities - our money goes to benefit the suburbs and developers.
Meanwhile the rest of our pols look benignly on and our media runs whore ads instead of do the tiresome business of keeping the public informed.
Archie and Edith as usual gets treated like mushrooms fed shit and kept in the dark.
The East Side Access project benefits Queens directly. Thousands of Queens residents commute via LIRR.
Extend the 7 train --------> that way
