From NY1:
In Queens, Assemblywoman Grace Meng was declared the winner in the race for the Democratic nomination for the 6th Congressional District seat.
According to AP numbers as of 12:30 a.m., Meng had 51 percent of the vote with 89 percent of precincts reporting. Assemblyman Rory Lancman had 28 percent, Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley had 16 percent and Dr. Robert Mittman had 5 percent.
"This is an important win for our shared priorities and our shared understanding that what's different about all of us here in Queens is nothing compared to what we all have in common," Meng said.
Queens Assemblyman Hakeem Jeffries was declared the winner over City Councilman Charles Barron for the nomination in the 8th Congressional District.
As of 12:30 a.m., with 98 percent of precincts reporting, AP numbers say that Jeffries leads with 72 percent of the vote to Barron's 28 percent.
Looks like the Machine strategy of vote splitting worked!

If the numbers are accurate, then Meng (over 50%) had more votes than Lancman and Crowley (and Mittman) combined - so Crowley's absence from the race would not have resulted in Lancman's victory.
First items on the prestigious US House of Representatives Democratic Congressional candidate Grace Meng's agenda:
Publicly renouncing the Queens Tribune's denigration of women by publishing prostitution ads on its back pages
AND
the firing of Tribune Associate Publisher Michael Nussbaums's Multi Media printing services for her campaign literature
AND
a public statement as to who her new printer will be
AND
a report to the voters of the progress of her proposed legislation in Albany to mandate the licensing of massage parlors.

Except when you factor in that Rory probably got close to 100% of the absentee ballots.
Plus, most of those union workers would have been helping Lancman.
Vote for Grace.
This was a crushing defeat for Elizabeth Crowley, she came in a distant 3rd with all of her so-called union support. Can't wait to get rid of this brainless bimbo from the city council. She's an embarrassment.
"The people have gotten dumber."
Now all we need is Matt Silverstein to win a City Council seat in 2013, and then all the Asian restaurants can name one of their meals "Idiot's Delight" after Meng and Silverstein.
What we learned last night is that for local Democrats, "Queens is County"
Whether you're the ethnically challenged Meeks or the inexperienced Meng, if you have County support, you will win.
While I congratulate the winner, I must also pity the constituents of Queens. We're stuck with Dizzy Lizzy and her do nothing staff. Can't wait till her term is up. Hopefully, someone with half a brain will run against her and win.
Maybe now Lancman will show women respect instead of treating women like second class citizens
That's what you get for hiring Working Families Party Crapskateers. you are a big fat LOSER.
Hope the little boys you got working for you can find other jobs.
What a great result! I am extremely happy to see that Grace Meng is one step closer to becoming the first Asian-American Congressperson from New York. Meng is someone who will fight for the middle-class in Congress. She will be a crucial part of the Democrats' battle against the House Republicans--who don't care about the middle-class and whose every move is designed to make the 1% richer at the expense of the middle-class and low-income people in this country.
What a disgrace!

"Here are the winners of yesterday's primary"
There were no winners. The people lost big time!
Spy, if you don't like living near Asians, there are plenty of other places in the country where you can live in a neighborhood where everyone is the same as you. Unlike you, I am not frightened by an "Asian enclave" (whatever that is supposed to mean). In fact, I love living in the most diverse county in the country.
You don't know what an Asian enclave is? Ever been to Flushing or Elmhurst? I live in the most diverse county in the country, too, but not in a slum. I doubt you do, either. You liberals are a funny bunch.
So our choice will be useless and good for nothing?
Anon #17, I've been to both Flushing and Elmhurst. Unlike you, I don't find either of these neghborhoods to be a "slum". What about them makes you say these neighborhoods are "slums"? Is it that a lot of Asians live in these neighborhoods?
Also, what makes you think I'm a liberal? Just because someone disagrees with you, that doesn't mean he/she is a liberal.
I can't wait for the Campaign Finance scandals to begin!
They're slums because they are overcrowded and filthy. There are white, black, Hispanic and Asian slums. Funny how you visited there but don't live there. Being diverse means having more than one culture. In most of Queens, the cultures isolate themselves. And only liberals think "diversity" is a way to solve problems.
When hasn't it worked? You know that the machine wants to get rid of an incumbent when there's only one challenger. Let's see how the other candidates get rewarded now.
Don't know about winners but certain of the losers:
all of us.
No mention of Republican race - Turner in particular?
