Maspeth bar shut down for prostitution, drugs, gambling & counterfeit cigarettes

From NBC:

A Queens bar had its liquor license suspended after authorities allegedly uncovered prostitution, narcotics, illicit gambling and untaxed cigarettes.

The New York State Liquor Authority issued the emergency suspension of Huang Jia Inc in Maspeth Wednesday effective immediately, which prohibits alcohol to be sold or consumed on the premises.

According to the State Liquor Authority, SLA investigators and officers with the New York City Police Department’s Citywide Vice-Enforcement Division executed a search warrant of the bar on April 12. During the search warrant, investigators allegedly discovered 97 packs of counterfeit or untaxed cigarettes, jars and bags filled with the narcotic ketamine, records related to the sale of prostitution and illegal gambling devices.

The NYPD made nine arrests, including the bar’s owner, for criminal possession of a controlled substance. Additionally, a number of hazardous conditions were observed, including overcrowding, blocked exits and non-working emergency lighting, the State Liquor Authority says.

On April 14, the NYPD and SLA conducted a follow up inspection, making six arrests after allegedly discovering patrons with ketamine in three separate karaoke rooms inside the bar and finding patrons consuming alcohol after closing hours.

On April 16, the SLA charged the establishment with 22 violations of the ABC Law, including disorderly premises for permitting prostitution, gambling, trafficking of controlled substances, failure to supervise and for becoming a focal point for police attention.

Between March 15th and April 12th, the NYPD conducted three undercover operations where detectives posing as customers allegedly purchased narcotics, prostitution and gambling — all which formed the basis for the April 12 raid, officials say.

According to the NYPD, there was an alleged a pattern of criminal activity in and around the premises months prior to these incidents.

Makes you wonder if the owner missed a few protection payments to the local precinct.

Thank God we don't have such houses of ill repute in Flushing.

Sounds like Flushing.

'Maspeth bar shut down for prostitution, drugs, gambling & counterfeit cigarettes.'

Sounds like 'Gargoyle Andy's' Executive Chamber up in Albany. The only charge that is missing is extortion and racketeering (think free walking Joe Bruno, Sheldon Silver, Dean Skelos & son, Adam).

It pays to enter a life of crime in New York State——provided that the crimes themselves are big and brazen——otherwise, the feds will come down on you like a whiny little bitch, the way that they recently jailed porn addict, Anthony Weiner and garden variety kleptocrat, Ruben W. Wills, for whom the latter received up to six years in jail for stealing a mere $30,000——versus, crud like Silver, who stole more than $5 million and has been out on appeal for over a year.

As a result, this whole filthy, politically corrupt town (from City Hall to Albany, and back), is a padded cell, with no end in sight to a profoundly eroded and decaying justice system of decades of rot that continues to betray public trust, ethics, integrity, accountability and transparency so completely——that it DEVALUES honesty itself!

They just closed down a skin care massage business for prostitution on 164th Street near Broadway LIRR station. This is the 3rd "spa" shut down for being a whore house in the same location. All 3 were Asian run.
Broadway's little red light district.
Vallone does nothing!

A shame that it's closed, sounds like a fun joint!

I'm told it all started over a stupid Joker Poker machine, is that really gambling?
Give me a fucking break because every bar in Queens has Joker Poker machine along with a pool table. !
Somebody didn't want to pay their bribes alright.
I hear the vending and managing "cut" the cost has come DOWN for a small bar, around $2500-$5000 a month if you wanna do light gambling and whores (like around Broadway in Flushing for example)
Oddly they come in the daytime to collect/

109th Precinct is already "covered", so nothing to see at Flushing.... Keep moving..

It was the shady 109th that gets $$$$$ to look the other way. Some cops get "massages" to ignore bordellos. Two were arrested for muscling one Asian madam's competitors. Not a very happy ending for Flooshing. Where is Peter Koo? Probably using the same crooked massage services before he heads home to Port
Washington.
