Rockaway residents tell Bloomberg off

From the NY Post:

Storm-ravaged and weary Rockaways residents cornered Mayor Bloomberg yesterday to angrily demand more aid for their devastated neighborhood.

“When are we gonna get some help?” blasted one desperate woman, who had to be held back by the mayor’s security detail as Bloomberg stood by with a deer-in-the-headlights look.

“When are we gonna get some f--king help?” she demanded.

“There’s old ladies in my building that don’t got nothing,” lashed out a man on video caught by a NY1 reporting crew.

Bloomberg’s trip to the Rockaways wasn’t announced and wouldn’t have been caught on cameras if the news crew hadn’t happened to run across him. Back in City Hall, he expressed sympathy with the residents’ plight.

Bloomberg later told reporters dropping temperatures are “dangerous” and the city is sending 25,000 blankets to the Rockaways, where it could be another two weeks before power is restored.

I don't hold a degree in emergency management, but I would think that setting up warming tents would be a better way of delivering heat to freezing residents than handing out blankets.

Could the city not send out some MTA buses so at least people could warm up?

Mayor Bloomberg sits high and dry in his east side town house.

Is there anyone else besides myself, who's not surprised that Bloomberg looked like a befuddled deer caught in the headlights?

That's what happens when an aloof mayor that YOU elected doesn't give a damn about anyone but his own wealthy class.

I certainly DIDN'T vote for that rich bum!

Mayor Mike has been out to lunch and out of touch with the REAL New York since the first day he parked his skinny ass in city hall!

Enjoy the rest of his usurped 3rd term.

WHERE'S THE NATIONAL GUARD?

Oh...I see...Breezy Point is not 5th Avenue so it gets put on the back burner by the Bloomberg administration.

TURN IN YOUR RESIGNATION HERR BLOOMBERG...
YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO HUMANITY!

How do you expect a cold hearted son of a bitch like Bloomberg to know anything about warmth?

Just like those high living aristocrats...before the French Revolution came along...he lives in his own world!

Hoist the arrogant prick on a gibbet!

The little man is clueless.....

I reluctantly give Mayor Bloomberg some credit.

It's difficult to fake concern for people beneath your socioeconomic class.

Oh, oh--
now I've commented twice on this one post alone.
Does this put me on hizzoner's official "shit list"?

San SOMEBODY tell use the purpose of the Public Safety Committee on City Council?

Wasn't there any disaster planning - I recall how lousy the blackout in Astoria was handled a few years back.

I hope it was set up to do more than bash Con Ed.

Maybe someone from Vallonia can enlighten us?

1000s still go out to run Marathan despite the city's agony.

Kind of reminds me of that article in the NY Observer on the hipsters in the waterfront highrises shrugging off the disaster around them.

This is the brave new city that Bloomberg is building around us.

A legacy of our politicians supporting Bloomberg.

Has anyone see 'Honest Joe' Crowley yet?

Send i the National Guard

Bloomberg is the product of a system and a mentality that created him and sustained him.

Bashing him might make you feel good, and taking out your frustration by helping people is good, but nothing will be different after this unless we learn out lesson and resolve to change things for good.

Unless we do so, all this suffering will be for naught.

The little emperor should have sent the generators sitting in Central Park to NYU Medical Center Langone and Bellvue. Those poor patients had to be transported all through the night in the storm to other hospitals. The rest of the generators should have been distributed immediately to the Rockaways and Staten Island, along with all the water, mylar blankets and port-a-potties. The carb loading spaghetti dinner that happens the night before the marathon should have been prepared to feed the people in Staten Island and the Rockaways. Supplies were already bought and people hired to prepare it. School buses that sat idle in yards should have been utilized to transport people to work - eliminating all the car traffic at the bridges. This isn't hard to figure out. It's common sense - which Mayor Asshole doesn't have. This man has NO compassion for others. It's criminal.

If Bloomberg's voting for Obama, you know whom I am voting for.

It's too late to tell Bloomberrg off.
You shouldn't have re-elected him!

Mr. Pespicaity...
WTF does Obama have to do with Bloomberg?

Obama is the only one that rushed through federal aid to New Jersey.

Even their governor praised him on high!

Get a life...you ignorant malcontent.

Bloomberg endorsed Obama because he's the best candidate to address climate change. Bloomberg, concerned about climate change after overdeveloping the coastal areas that were just devastated and flying around in his private jet every weekend burning up fuel.

This storm was a combination of factors:

1. The full moon
2. The cold front in the West
3. The high pressure system
4. The unusual width of the disturbance

Possibly a fluke? Did "climate change" cause the Great Gale of 1821? Check that monster storm out here and and here. You read that right: 1821. James Monroe was the President and DeWitt Clinton the Governor of New York. The Hudson River met the East River south of Canal Street. People lined up in front of blacksmith shops for blocks to get their nags horseshoed.

Check this graphic out showing the Atlantic Hurricane patterns from 1851 to 2005: here. You can't even see Belmar, Breezy Point, or Bayshore under all the blue lines.

As the Left said in the '60's: "Sh-t happens"

Bloomberg ("Mr.Snowstorm-relaxing-in-Bermuda") endorsing Obama? One more reason for me to vote for whom I'm going to vote for.

Does Queens still have a Borough President?

James Molinaro was visible and vocal in securing aid for Staten Island and we need all elected officials to focus on securing help for victims and securing aid for reconstruction.
The role of the Borough President is that of an advocate and cheerleader and Queens deserves better than to have an 83 year old career politician in that role who is a creation of one party rule inbreeding.

Helen's probably scouting out retirement homes in Florida. One can only hope.

Who is the Public Safety chair on City Council?

Where are all the politicans?

Remember that news story about Doomberg having an air conditioner mounted on a portable frame so that he could cool off his SUV faster?

http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/hizzoner_cold_feat_lYxDIMuat7x4PL7nUbdBEM

He likes HIS creature comforts all right, but could care less about basic living necessities of the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

What total android he is. And you can't blame ME--I never voted for him, even for his illegal 3rd term.

Queens' borough presidents have NEVER worked for Queens. They work only to enrich themselves.

Helen has always been a plantation house servant for the building industry...yassir!
