Idiot moron contractor. How much trouble would it have been to cover the sealant filled gaps with a strip of cardboard or Masonite hardboard? Leaving the stuff exposed while it cures is a hazard to wildlife and pets. And who wants to be tracking the sticky goo into their homes and on their carpets?

Exactly, masonite and duct tape.
Not to mention those joints are way too wide to last long.
They are the La Brea tar pits of urethane caulking!
