Because 1 de Blasio hasn't done enough damage

From Politicker:

New York City’s First Lady Chirlane McCray opened up about what has led her to consider higher office in 2021 and the challenges that come with her job during her first-ever gaggle with the media amid heightened scrutiny of her role in appointing top City Hall staffers.

On Monday night, McCray told NY1’s Courtney Gross that 2021 is among timeframes she is considering for a possible political office run. In November 2017, she told Cosmopolitan magazine she isn’t ruling out public office. And last month, she told Observer that running for office or leading a not-for-profit are both possibilities.

On Tuesday morning, after announcing that the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City—of which she is chairwoman—and the Hispanic Federation would provide $200,000 to support mental health services in Puerto Rico post-Hurricane Maria and send a 12-person team to aid in recovery, McCray said she’s undecided on a position.

Chirlie isn't only the co-mayor, she's an actual agent of the city. And THRIVE is a sanctioned slush fund to justify her existence.

The sick thing is this woman is cunning and she confirms her husband's lack of intellect and independent thought. But her arrogance will bring her down, as did the "inspiration" for her to run for office while coattail riding on de Faustio and the apathy of registered voters, Manifest Hillary Clinton.

OMG! Please say it ain’t so.......

Man, New York really sure do love the positions being handed to family members. Another De Blasio, another Cuomo, another Schumer. So much for having a democracy.

Can someone explain to me how sending people and money to PR is advancing NYC? Sounds more like a 501c3 bullshit field trip to escape the cold weather.

she's already the Mayor of this city. she wears the pants, she dictates what Billy Boy can do. the sheeple elected HER for a second term, not the bumbling buffoon from Brooklyn.

A woman as mayor of this city would be a welcome sight. However, it doesn't have to be the current first lady. She shares most if not all of Diblassio's views on politics.

JQ, did you know that ThriveNYC got $818 million in tax payer funding from the 4 year budget? This isn't even under the DOH or any other agency where we can find an org. chart, so when nyc.gov says "spearheads" this program, it sounds like she's calling the shots on how it's spent.

Goddamnit, the numbskulls who would vote in this nepotism opportunist and then complain about the failure of city government have only themselves to blame.

LOL! Bring it, baby! Run for whatever you want. You and your cop-hating staff. Let the people decide. I think you'll find we've had quite enough duhblazios.

And, JUST when I didn't think that any more evil could flourish at City Hall (and, as always, Albany), and now THIS deranged monarch 'wanna be' is living proof that evil itself is a bottomless pit (for which everyone else continues to pay the ultimate, soul-crushing price).

Where the F**K is the media to interview enraged people like me (and everyone else)? The Daily News is a weekday graveyard of five pages (three of which is about Hollywood celeb-u-tards; the other two for Trump), and I am still waiting for ANYONE to question why de BLASS-hole's 'First Lady Lesbo' continues to BILK every single taxpayer for her two, Affirmative Action hired lackeys (at a yearly cost that is soaking taxpayers' to the tune of more than $300K), when she's NOT A PUBLICLY ELECTED? RED FLAGS ARE EVERYWHERE IN THIS TOTALLY CORRUPT ADMINISTRATION OF EPIC, GOVERNMENT FAIL!

Worse, WHO MAKES UP RULES LIKE THIS OVERNIGHT WITHOUT PUBLIC REFERENDUM? The fact that her sleazy, bribery addled spouse isn't in federal lockup (as everyone else around him is going to trial), is a testament to how government itself is a disease that continues to masquerade as its own cure.

Freedom and help are both serious illusions in New York State, and as always: TRUST is for SUCKERS, and TRUTH is TREASON——in an EMPIRE OF LIES!

BANISH-and-BOYCOTT THIS PARASITIC COUPLE OF DECAYING TURDS, BEFORE THEY DESTROY THE REMNANTS OF CITY ACCOUNTABILITY ALTOGETHER!

@JQ LLC: What's your problem with THRIVE? It's one of the only programs coming out of the DeBlasio administration that I like.

No please dont allow that thing to run. Bad enough i have to see her ugly face now.

The sad thing is that she would probably be elected.

Anon above, yes I did know of the near billion dollar plan for it. I wrote about it on my blog.

https://impunitycity.wordpress.com/2018/03/11/the-inaugurations-of-co-mayor-chirlane-mccray-de-blasio-and-the-night-mayor/

At the other anon, the problem I have as well as you should is the extravagant costs. Another thing is that this program is being foisted in a way that it may be linked to the forced eviction of pyschiatrists and pyschoanalysists from a classic office building that was bought by a developer who's going to be converted into condos (it's a long article but worth it, and it's by Jeremiah Moss of Vanishing New York)

http://www.nybooks.com/daily/2018/03/07/the-death-and-life-of-a-great-american-building/

If Chirlie and de Faustio thinks mental health is so important, why didn't she help these professionals keep their offices and landmark this building which is over 150 years old?

THRIVE like so many other programs are just more places to dump money, spend carelessly, while doing very little except to keep such programs to exist forever. I mean we have seen this shit over and over for decades. Programs put in to place to eliminate a problem, but then becomes a problem itself and creating just like JQ said, another damn slush fund and nothing gets accomplished. Just more bureaucratic bullshit. Sounds good on paper, but in reality is a mess.

@JQ LLC: Thanks for your answer, with actual links! I won't have time to read them until after the weekend, and I'll probably disagree with you (I already know from looking at your blog a bit earlier that I disagree with you on the nightclub issue) but I appreciate a real response. Thank you!

@JQ LLC: Having taken a quick look at your second link, I have to say, it's incredibly depressing seeing how lovely the St. Denis was 100 years ago and how plain and ugly it is now. Just shows how far little decorative touches outside a building can go in making it look like more than just a giant box.

Although I don't like him, I think he's not bad looking. For having an "ugly face", she did pretty good for herself reeling him in. She must have been good at SOMETHING to snag him. Gnome sayin?

@Julie

On twitter, de Faustio is referred to as Lerch and Chirlie as Pugsly. Maybe you should reconsider.

I don't think the city has ever had a hunky mayor. Actually, John Lindsay probably the only one.

Don’t see any Deblasio running in 2021! After he ruins the neighborhoods in NYC people will be saying don’t let the door hit you or your wife on the fanny when you leave.
