Trailer without a truck

"This was off of Woodhaven Blvd, next to the Home Depot near Metropolitan Ave.
Just the flatbed...no truck cab attached parked at a fire hydrant.
Typical Queens." - anonymous

Noticed another flatbed in front of it. I guess the drivers feel that it's by a big empty lot that no one would notice or care.

They are all over the neighborhood including along the GCP by FHHS

Union Turnpike under the Grand Central Parkway near Alley Pond Park has become a permanent parking spot for tractor trailers, both with or without their cab.

Again, you city slickers ain't be knowing trucks don't always come with trailers. You need me listening to CW McCall's CONVOY some time

So how is it that they don't disappear, like anything else with some value would, if left on a NYC street? You know there are rigs around that could hook-up and be gone with them in a minute.
