When you rush to open a bridge before an election

From NBC 4:

Officials plan to open the second span of the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge after delays caused by concerns over the stability of the old Tappan Zee Bridge, officials said Sunday.

The Tappan Zee is damaged but stable with "certain key components highly stressed," said Terry Towle, president of Tappan Zee Constructors.

Even if the bridge does fall, it won't affect boat traffic in the water or the new bridge, Towle said.

The span is scheduled to open Tuesday evening, weather permitting, Towle said. That means the bridge will effectively be open for the Wednesday morning commute.

"Even if the bridge does fall"... Alrighty!

I hope someone sues his ass. That would definitely teach him.

The most sickening thing about this is that he basically became Hillary Clinton's chauffer during this rushed opening.

Nice isolated quote Crappy: "if the bridge does fall". Did Mario's son contract some wizards to prevent this potential hazard?

Mario's son is such a stupid jackass. He and his campaign has put out hundreds of ads about defying and fighting Trump and Andy is as mentally unstable and unfit for his position as he is.

This dumbass governor did a fucking grand opening with crooked Hillary and chauffered her over the bridge and they did not even paint stripes on the roads for lanes.

did anyone really expect anything less from an entitled little brat who egotistically named the damn bridge after his dead, do-nothing father?

and last time i check, defying the President of the United States does not make you qualified to run the State of Ne York.

this guy needs his over-sized, gargoyle head examined and then have a public vivisection.

Cuomo is usually a savy politician but one has to question the smarts of being so cozy with that 2 time loser Hillary. Looks despite.

What's with the nonsensical comment to Trump "we build bridges"?? Hey Cuomo, there was always a bridge called the Tappan Zee. But because our lazy and corrupt government neglected it and ran it into the ground.

Oh, yeah wait till the Cat 4 hurricane comes Thursday passing to the south possibly sailing that old section into the new bridge sending everything down into the river
There all in a whole mess of trouble, can Cuomo & Clinton's old bang bang car sprout wings?

I'm surely not voting for someone who gave pedophiles the right to vote for him. I'll take my chances with Nixon. Hopefully, she will win and run against the Republican Marc Molinaro. Molinaro has my vote. He's the most sane out of the three of them.

Everyone loves to bash Cuomo, but whats the solution here? The Tappan Zee bridge was built in 1955, and was never meant to last 62 years. Its probably a good thing that the new bridge was built and ready to open before this happened. People need to be able to cross the river.

New bridge is a rushed ugly piece of el'cheapo shit just like the one in Greenpoint. I wonder if its the same builder and how the $$ kickbacks paid out.
The worst part about it is having bridges re-named after these democrat assholes making tributes to themselves, washing away history and having to look at the signs on the roadways and be constantly be reminded every time you need to go someplace.

I hear they're renaming the bridge again the P.T.Barnum Bridge.

Oh give it a break. Theres way worse things to get bent out of shape over than the name of a bridge

Drive toward the bridge from Westchester. Half the signs have stickers over the “Tappan Zee Brudge” with the new name, half still say Tappan Zee. How much is it going to cost to change over all those signs? What are they going to do to enforce the speed limit on the Brudge? Right now it’s posted at 45, the average speed is 70 or better. Just wait till both sides open and the accidents start piling up.

The old tapanzee licked balls, a dangerous stretch of road. It needed a rebuild.

Stop ya crying already! you don't want sex and city running our state.

"What are they going to do to enforce the speed limit on the Bridge"

Cash generating speed scanning cameras everyplace that can read the license plate of every car and also track your every location on a database thats kept on file for years.
Cover 63 miles between Camera A and Camera X in 1 hour = Your speeding 8MPH over the limit and cant even fight it unless you can rewrite the laws of physics. $450 ticket + $50 state surcharge and your insurance goes through the roof for years.

Didn't pay your alimony or have a warrant, guess what happens ?

How do New Yorker's think these 2 son of a bitches Cuomo & deBlasio expect pay for all this free stuff and massive socialism on the way.
I want get angry whenever I'm driving and see the words like "JFK" "Johnson" "Lindsay" "Cuomo" on signs. Its these people who created the worst laws to F_ this country totally up the wazoo !

No problem just wait around 72 hours re-name it the "Bottom Zee Water" bridge.
Ill laugh hard if the new bridge has a problem and the old bridge high sections still standing. There is now a cash pool going on at the bar I'm getting in !!

I'm afraid that it might happen to the Whitestone Bridge first.

The problem is the speed limit is artificially low, not that it's not enforced.

To Fourth Anonymous from Top who said that, "Cuomo is usually a 'savvy' politician..." If cavorting with a criminal enterprise, ignoring the MTA (and, not even admitting control over it), dehumanizing the hardworking people of the rank and file, and blighting and ravaging upstate New York (to IMPLODING effect!), is your idea of 'savvy,' not to mention that practically his entire, Executive Chamber (of Albany Horrors) cabinet has been indicted, prosecuted and soon on their way to lockup (everyone EXCEPT the kingpin himself!), then you must think the REAL organized crime families of corruption, graft and endless greed worldwide are demigods and superheroes!
