Schneps now owns the Times Ledger, too

From Brooklyn Paper:

The three leading local media companies serving the five boroughs of New York City along with Long Island and Westchester have now become one.

Schneps Communications, a family-run business owned by Victoria and Joshua Schneps, has acquired Community News Group and NYC Community Media, one of the largest publishers of community newspapers, niche publications, websites and events in New York State.

Together, Schneps, CNG, and NYCCM offer unmatched reach in the five boroughs of New York City, as well as Long Island and Westchester. The newly combined company will be known as Schneps Community News Group and will have a total printed weekly circulation of more than 300,000 copies, a digital reach of more than 2.5 million page views per month, and host more than 40 events every year.

But she doesn't own Queens Crap.

And the Times Ledger gave the Schneps a thorough tongue bath.

I like the part where the Schneps also own businesses running events.

Report, but watch what you write about their lavish parties and festivals.

Community News Group and NYC Community Media are all on "The Mayors Office" list if TV & media so this paper will now be controlled, censored, politically steered garbage!!
Who the hell reads print anymore? The cost of recycling paper once its inked is enormous and a nightmare to the environment , what a waste.

Interesting. The Schnepps are savvy businesspeople. That they have a tendency to snap up smaller low wage newspapers is sort of a plus/minus. Good in that vital local Queens news does get reported. And bad in that the employees usually do not see the benefit of that. Well, I guess keeping your job is a benefit. Part of the odd little food chain that is local journalism.

Queens Crap is actually owned by Google, which is owned by Alphabet.

I get a kick out of reading her column in the Courier where she describes the latest party she attended in the Hamptons with the beautiful people which often includes a couple of Catholic Monsignors. My local church begs for money every week while a couple of Monsignors party with the wealthy every week!

"beautiful people"
Yea right as in the Governor and his wife Sara Lee, Lizzie Grubmanm the Balwin clan, Lorne Michaels and the Broadway video mob, Hollywood carpet baggers who shoot in New York during summer to get the tax credits.
Those Catholic Monsignors and local church must have 1000 illegals sheltered up in Springs. These Monsignors love those undocumented young women and happy dudes.

The best local news is walking around your neighborhood, using your own two eyes and ears, and listening to your neigbhor's accounts of what's going on. Always corroborate stories to understand each platform's slant. Read two or three different accounts on an issue before attempting to put forth on it yourself.

YO, dude, like, you've been expanding into the bus biz: http://www.krapfbus.com/ ?
Saw your new bus in midtown!

That's why it's good to have two or three independent community newspapers.

What's with the new OVER-sized version of the Queens Tribune? It's so-o-o big I need an assistant to help me turn the pages.

Trying to look more respectable + noticing how few broadsheets there are in the City.

Now I even miss the Schenkler-run Queens Tribune - whore ads and all.
