From the Times Ledger:
A report from city Comptroller Scott Stringer exposed massive dysfunction within the Board of Elections in a report which audited its performance over the course of three elections in 2016.
The city, which has one of the lowest voter turnouts in the nation, has disenfranchised the public through dumped voter rolls and widespread inefficiency at over 53 percent of the poll sites reviewed where state and federal election laws were broken, according to the audit promised by Stringer in April 2016.
The report revealed that out of 156 polling sites, 14 percent had mishandled affidavit ballots for people eligible to vote but who may not on the rolls. One site failed to inform voters of the option to vote via affidavit, a violation of federal law, and thus “disenfranchising” individuals.
Up to 10 percent of poll sites showed many voters went unassisted when issues arose. One example given by the report said a scanner had rejected a ballot and the distracted poll site worker did not notice until the person had already left. Staff at the site were forced to void the ballot and the person’s vote was not counted.

This audit gets released a week after the election. Way to go Scottie. No wonder he endorsed de Faustio. Stringer has lost all credibility here by being tardy with the results.
Never mind these facts have been speculated and revealed by intrepid reporters a while ago in last year's president primary in Brooklyn and the BOE itself which copped to charges of voter fraud and no one went to jail for it.
JQ LLC: Stringer's office released reports prior to the election. I submit that to achieve our woeful turnouts, by-and-large NYC voters disenfranchise themselves.
AND WHY IS THIS A SURPRISE ??
I voted against corrupt Stinker.
I actually believe the BOE does a pretty good job. Now mind you, I do get to vote in a civilized precinct (Whitestone). The mailing with the card that provides you with your voting info is excellent. It's not BOE's fault that this City is filled with "do nothing parasites" that simply can't find it in their schedules to do their Civic Duty. And there you have it,the Perfect Democrat.
Eh,I got my card, I voted. You need a working brain to figure that out - guess the people complaining don't even have that much.
And crooked too.
Fire them all and bring back the good old punch card machines.
This computer network, scanning & software shit is nothing but trouble and its to easy to rig.
When will there be an audit of the biggest mess (and waste of time) of them all——Scott Stringer himself? He's managed to ignore my problem since November 2017 (despite a written reply from one of his cronies, a director named Ingrid Sotelo who says that she wants to help, but never has), and there is ZERO social contract with any of the fake/corporate owned journalists to expose the public corruption that I have been faced with, as a constituent, since I have contacted him——and, Stringer is far from alone when it comes to ignoring public corruption (the entire city council, as well as City Hall and Albany are even worse).
Without justice, there can be no peace. And, without challenge there can BE no change!
Ignoring the party-machine-failed duopoly is to condone it.
If you are unmoved by a rigged elections, then you will be unmoved by a fascist president!

The public good must ALWAYS outweigh the crushing weight of all private (and, now public and political) gain——and, it's NOT NEGOTIABLE!
Of course we are waiting for the final results in Council District 30... how many mishandled affidavit ballots you want to guess there are there... and "missing" absentee ballots from certain districts
"Fire them all and bring back the good old punch card machines."
Exactly. And although unrelated, bring back tokens for the subway and buses.
Tech is good for progress in science and medicine, not for daily routines.
NYC is a joke...I now have my name looked up in a computer and vote on a computer. No more old ladies fusing with big out-of-date books!
Most of the jobs at the BOE can be replaced by robots.
Most of the employees are ex-cons or on drug rehab.
It's not the old ladies on election day that concern me. It's the drug addicted thugs who come to do the worst job of their lives that day.
