The dirty little secret is when a neighborhood becomes an 'immigrant' neighborhood, city services just vanish.
Since the locals are 'tweeded' to death, the number of undocumented people jump (and try their best to remain hidden) and replace long time residents (are voters and vocal), there is no one to care or do anything about it.
The remaining people, as far as the system is concerned, should either put up or leave.
The bottom line is that the machine is busy exterminating the communities of western Queens.
To be replaced by rich people on the waterfront and their immigrant staff (who literally live in the shadow of their building) and are tolerated to be within reach to serve at the beck and call of the rich.
Crappie-- Please -- your grammar. It should be "fewer" cops, not "less". Fewer is for numbers of things. Less is for mass of things (fewer calories, less beer; fewer dollar bills, less money; fewer politicians, less corruption, etc.) Otherwise, you're perfect. The Teach
Anonymous refers to the illegals there to serve the wealthy.
How right!
The money that should be used to pay police, firefighters, nurses, teachers, sanitation workers in each neighborhood is scheduled to be handed to the illegals for housing, hospitalization, schooling, food, and family care.
Bloomberg the maximum socialist utterly detests the working middle class for being too stupid to be rich like him and his "Precious People" friends.
It is Bloomberg and his hangers-on'ers who need the services of those aliens.
Manhattan is the plantation, the other boroughs provide the accommodations for the illegals.
The rest of us will either be the overseers or the main house folks.
I don't blame NYC cops for jumping ship - if Suffolk and Nassau pay more money then that's where they should go.
There is A LOT of crap our Police have to deal with and they get paid peanuts. Bloomberg should be paying them more and if he won't then they have to go to where they will get paid what they are worth.
"The money that should be used to pay police, firefighters, nurses, teachers, sanitation workers in each neighborhood is scheduled to be handed to the illegals for housing, hospitalization, schooling, food, and family care."
Well done!
This is one of the best thoughts I have seen. Let us not forget this. Funny how Hunter College, Pratt Institute, or even HDC, Landmarks Conservency, MAS has never reached that level of insight.
Oh, yes, you have given us a nice definition for 'tweeding.'
I'm with the Teach...Obey the g-d rules already! Grammar is NOT "consensus"....Consensus is based on Subjectivism -"reality" based on the direction of the wind currents. It's too hard to speak correctly? You can't understand the difference between "fewer" and "less"?...Throughout the history of the English language, the subject agrees with the verb!
Maybe they should pull some of the seemingly endless number of Astoria "meter maids" into the 114th. They are certainly not short of staff when it comes to writing parking tickets.

Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap
"The difference between dishonest and honest graft: for dishonest graft one worked solely for one's own interests, while for honest graft one pursued the interests of one's party, one's state, and one's personal interests all together." - George Washington Plunkitt
The above organizations are recognized by Queens Crap as being beneficial to the city as a whole, by fighting to preserve the history and character of our neighborhoods. They are not connected to this website and the opinions presented here do not necessarily represent the positions of these organizations.

We have drug dealing in the open on our block (nice employment for all those 17 year olds that dropped from school).
Garbage piles up in front of buildings with amazing speeed.
We see rats weekly. Cops yearly.
The electric grid has been flickering for the past year (damn those Con Ed shareholders - right?)
They are abuilding barracks for the immigrants as fast as they can convince someone to cash in.
And they tell us our polticians, all bright young boys, have a great future.
What is the surprise?

Teach-- repeat after me or, better yet, right on the blackboard 100 times--
Grammar Is Consensus
Grammar Is Consensus
Grammar Is Consensus
my fellow netizens, I am here tonight to say FUCK CONSENSUS. (& if El 'Teach' had really studied the history of 'English,' he would also.)
Sugg'd remedial reading: Alasdair Gray, "Book of Prefaces." you are welcome.
Carry on Crappie!

Well, its certainly true, the machine has written off the unions and working men and women of Queens.
Let's get after them about this.
Ignore their crap, and hit them again and again:
quality of life,
support the middle class,
quality of life,
support the middle class,
quality of life,
support the middle class,
and watch 'em surry like little bugs when you turn on the light.

"Less cops" is perfectly good English throughout the Hudson Valley, including Queens. "Fewer" is not New York English.
George and Teach, keep your Middle American "fewer." This is New York.
