Hi Ho, Sliver!

So you must have seen a building that's too narrow somewhere in the city. Well, AM-NY has, too, and today's cover story is about just that phenomenon:

Sliver comeback has communities hopping mad

Apparently, they were outlawed by the Board of Estimate back in the 80's, but now there is no more Board of Estimate and we're living under Bloombergian rules.

True, we no longer have the infamous Board of Estimate but we still do have (for the most part) a crooked City Council.....beholding to developers' campaign contributions

And we do have that perky "canoodling" child wonder and chair of the Land Abuse Committee....... MELINDA KATZ !

Maybe she can convince some of her builder buddies to refrain from building these ugly slivers in return for some other (than usual) type of favor!

Mel loves all things that are tall, thin and plain looking - reminds her of herself.

No, no, it reminds her of Alan.

Was Mr. "H" that well hung?

If he was, she wouldn't have taken up rug munching.

I've never heard "it" being called that before.....that's a good one!

I am looking forward to a time when representatives from the public around the city meet to disucss development.

No politicians. No city officials. No real estate magnates. No lobbyests or apologists for the developers.

Just the most powerful entity in the city: John Q Public.
