The Kew Gardens Crap Mahal is late for opening

The building of this 8-story monstrosity on the steep hill of 116th St. in Kew Gardens was permitted by the city back in 2016 and expected to open for sales this year.

Apparently, something got in the way of it's completion and now it's just sitting in parasitic development limbo. And from the looks of it, probably for a while now...

...and definitely for a while longer.

No wonder they gave themselves a two year window for completion (May 2017-May 2019!)

See ya later.

Yikes, that rendering is true crap. I get that they were trying to be different with the staggered balcony look but it looks like a mess. Imagine having one of those balconies, half will get rained on and half will have coverage and then those two weird looking platforms sticking out on the top; that place is a hot mess and I bet the layouts and common areas are just as bizarre, I would never live in a thing like that.

I bet that building looks like a zen fountain when it's raining.

From a 2 story house to a 8 story apartment building with 46 units, SURE, no problem with the infrastructure. Who the fuck approved this crap and why are people still living in NYC.

They rendered drawings making it appear they had and we're going to build the zaha Hadid like thing shown on the left but that appears to not be the case. What they build protrudes further into the street than anything else on the block and is a hideous light blocker!

All these contractors whose dangerous work collapses all over live in WHitestone,
where they refuse to see anything like it

Development limbo is when they run out of money. We need to require they put money in escrow before they start building. Those half built buildings end up full of mold spores that damage the lungs of future inhabitants.

That general contractor has a history of sloppy work and not completing projects on time. Typical bada-bing type!!
