Murray and 17. Again.

To: Vallone Paul

So every year this comes back. Every year we are dealing with the same issue. If I remember correctly, it was determined that there was a water leak beneath the sink hole. This determination was last year if I’m not mistaken. Do we have to wait for an accident? Or worse?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

I've been noticing a lot more sink holes and depressions in the road a much more over the past few years. I guess when the city doesn't spend money on proper maintenance this happens.

Pretty nasty looking pothole, Alfredo. Councilman Vallone needs to get a road crew on that before he runs into it and pops a tire. It's been a while since I lived in Whitestone, but I remember it, and people there, as a great community. I'm sure Paul will get it done. Thanks for bringing it to the public's attention.

I've noticed that if the city actually does a road repair, the repair is of the lowest quality and soon sinks again or otherwise breaks down. It's obviously a case of "brothers-in-law" getting the jobs. I shudder to think of the monetary damage inflicted on cars by the horrible condition of the roads and taxpayer money wasted time and time again by the low quality of the repair jobs, so poor that they have to be done again. It's great for the road repair crew unions, as they then get paid twice. Who lives here who has not had everything jump in their car and then slam back down again as they hit one of the excessively high seams on Rockaway Parkway or the Van Wyck? Pure laziness and incompetence on the part of whatever crew "fixed" those roads. Who hasn't played "Ride 'Em Cowboy" if they drove over 15 mph at the intersection of Main St. and Jewel Avenue, being launched into the air by the ragged condition of an intersection which should be silk smooth? Obviously Dumblassio could care less about such niceties as decent and safe roads--or decent and safe anything.

Is that hole plugged yet? Where o where is it, exactly.

The Councilman was somehow able to get a speed camera installed about a half-block away from his house, though. Priorities.
