Council members' positions on term limits

Okay, so the Queens Chronicle has this breakdown of who is in favor, against and undecided about term limits. But NY1's list tells a different story.

• There are 51 members, including the Speaker.
• 14 say they support the mayor's bill.
• 17 said they oppose it.
• 20 are undecided.

Everyone Join the Fight to Stop the Dictators

Here's what you can do right now that's quick, easy and effective: Call Our Council Members! Below you'll find a list of all of the City's Council Members, their contact information, and where they stand on the issue. If we don't all work together to apply pressure to the Council Members, who are undecided or support the extension of term limits, then NO ONE WILL!

Forward this blog post to all of your friends and urge them to take action! I know that we're all wrapped up with getting Barack Obama elected, but to bring about the change we need in America we all have to do our part in our own community. Spread the word!

This is what happens with one party rule. Same has happened in MA.

The NYC Council web site lists the Public Hearing on term limits on Thursday, October 16th as beginning at 1PM - not 3PM. Get there early to sign up to speak.

"Undecided", my ass. Who do these council members think that they’re fooling? This just another way for them to say that they are in favor of extending term limits - but are unwilling to go on record as saying so.

I've done one better
than a phone call or e-mail.

I just mailed 50+
of my "little piggy" cartoon
"No 3rd term !" postcards to ALL council members (the mayor's office etc.) so as to cover all bets!

Those pols who don't support term extensions except by referendum can ignore my message.

Thanks be to those hearty souls
(Avella, Weprin, etc) who have already spoken truth to power!
