Kew Gardens Hills: where everything is low-rent

Miss Heather asked for my take on this place earlier this month. I think its website and video speak for themselves...

If you were trying to sell condo units, I am sure you wouldn't be posting pixelated low-res photos of it on the complex's website:

And above all else, I am sure you wouldn't get a testimonial from a chick who looks like she just stepped off the set of a Devo video:

Freedom of choice...is what you got.It looks like fixed up projects with air brushed green grass for the sassy video.Isnt Shea stadium gone now, and replaced with a mega bloomberg vacation home\presidental king library?
If they do that to the projects by the Triboro in Astoria, watch out. That will be a big mistake with lots of fighting for sure.

Dara Gardens. Worst investment. Ever.

She is just minutes from Manha-en if you axe her.

Minutes from Manhattan, please! From there, she is about 60 minutes from Manhattan on a good day. With traffic and train delays, it could be close to two hours. She should be axed for making it sound like she could roll out of bed and just walk a few hundred feet into Manhattan.

Dara's management thinks it can be the next Stuy Town or Parkchester- a privately-owned housing project.

You guys have no lives. If you actually went there to check it out you would see that it ain't airbrushed grass and you would eat your words. Shea is still here...if you knew anything about Queens you would know that. And if you drive you can get to Manhattan in 20 minutes....idiots!

Yes, if you drive. But you aren't showing that in the video. You're showing the subway and saying that. So who's the idiot?

"Shea is still here...if you knew anything about Queens you would know that."

Shea is being turned into a rubble pile and replaced with a money pit called ShittyField. If you knew anything about Queens, you would know that.

HA! 20 MINUTES??????

Yeah maybe at 2am. For most who actually have jobs it's at LEAST double that driving into the city. Get you facts straight.

I do know that....but in the meantime...SHEA IS STILL HERE.

I grew up in Dara Gardens several decades ago and hated every moment of it. Stay away!

I also grew up in dara, its gated for a reason. Outside that gate meet ghetto. Not to mention paper thin walls and pour construction.

Did Dara Gardens used to go by the name Regal Gardens years ago? Very infamous as it was the scene of Alice Crimmons' murdered children...a case that made tabloid headlines for years in New York City newspapers. She had an apartment on the ground floor of 150-22 72nd. Drive. Just that alone is spooky to me and I would never want to live anywhwere in that neighborhood as that case haunts me 'til this very day.

Paper thin walls, yes. Roaches, no. Ghetto outside yes, but in queens you will always live next to crap. Joanna is a sales person. What do you expect? I've grown up in a co op in kew gardens, want to talk about corruption and roaches? I've had a garage door come off it hinges on my car! Dar a gardens maintains the property well, I believe they need to get rid of the renters who just don't care how the property is treated. Big difference of renters and owners.

i also lived in dara gardens 1967-1979. a roach infested toilet. morons were in charge of main repairs, useless people. misfits and welfare trash in the garden apts a cross the street on 72nd road.now it looks like prison with gated monkeys inside.and you have to pay real money to live there, get wise. do not waste time or effort. find yourself something better and the price.
