German Sport Club is history

I don't know much about the history of the First German Sport Club Brooklyn Inc. But I do know that it's very much in Queens, in Ridgewood, which used to address its mail as "Brooklyn". Unfortunately, it looks as though 'tis no more. Would be nice if someone saved that sign.

Well, they did lose two world wars. Can't expect their geography skills to be sharp.

FACT: Of the 300 million Americans, the largest percentage of them are of GERMANIC background: not Irish, not Italian, not Spanish, not African. Germans are the largest ethnic group in the United States..

There used to be a lot of German"schutzen" clubs around.

I think there's a great old terracotta building....
around the St. Marks Place area in Manhattan
that still survives which originally
served such a purpose.

The Poppenhusen Institute (College Point)
still has an old shooting gallery in the basement
that is no longer in use.

Absolutely correct on that one! And note they don't walk around with their ethnicity on their sleeves.

So much for all this hyphonated bullcrappie.
