Cat burglar caught red-handed

From the Daily News:

Gilbert Loo, 49, was collared as he left a Bayside home at about 6 a.m. last Friday after looting the residence for about 30 minutes as the owner slept, authorities said.

Loo, of Flushing, led cops to the scene after he was put under surveillance when the ex-con became a suspect in a string of burglaries in northern Queens in December and January, sources said.

"This guy was a professional," a police source said.

Wads of cash found in Loo's pocket matched the amounts missing from a wallet and an envelope in a desk drawer inside the apartment, arrest records show.

A fanny pack around Loo's waist contained four screwdrivers, a flashlight, batteries and wire, according to the documents.

A pair of pliers was also found in his front pocket.

Loo was charged with burglary, possession of burglar's tools and criminal possession of stolen property.

Initially, cops had little to go on to solve the month-long crime spree.

Some incidents went unreported for days as the burglar would sometimes only steal the cash from a wallet while a homeowner slept, leaving the victim more confused than suspicious of the missing loot, sources said.

And Loo was good at covering his tracks, leaving no fingerprints or DNA to link him to the crimes, a source said.

This guy should have been a politician, he can steal without leaving evidence

At least someone in NYC is not only good at something but professional whilst doing it. Now, go back to criminal college Mr. Loo, and learn from your mistakes.

Scary. A lot of these people are potential rapists and murderers too because they get a sexual thrill out of robbing people who are defenseless.

Last month around 9:30 pm my husband noticed a slow moving car. Someone in the backseat was taking a video of each of our houses.
About a week later my mom noticed the same thing on her block. She said they were Asian.
Must be connected.

People who are soundly asleep do not notice a creeper in their house. This is not at all uncommon.

Even if you did notice such a person you might be well advised to feign sleep and pray that he leaves you unharmed. You are after all, in your bed naked or in pajamas while he is fully alert and probably armed to the teeth as well.

Loo...h-m-m-m?

Keep an eye on another Liu...as in "Mr. Comptroller" (LOL)!

Maybe they're related.

"feign sleep and pray he leaves you unharmed"...while cocking the trigger of your .38 or pumping the double barrel shotgun next to your bed.

Works for me also George. I guess I'll have to take my shot gun out from under the bed and load it.

Here we go again with the guns. I hope the burglar never uses YOUR gun to kill YOU.

A burglary(!) suspect merited a NYPD surveillance team. I am impressed. I hope Loo gets a long jail sentence.

The burglar won't need a gun. Just a sharp knife, pillow or garrote.

Good locks, lighting, camera(s) and an alarm are good enough for the average person.Get a gun and you had better be able to properly use it..................
