Astoria ready for rezone

From NY1:

The city's Planning Commission is reviewing a 240 block rezoning proposal in Astoria following a series of complaints over the neighborhood's development.

I can't imagine what they would be complaining about. This looks gorgeous.

Funny How Peter Vallone was the one that spearheaded this proposal but yet no one will mention that. It is much easier to criticize.

Sure, everyone was a bunch of dumb ignorant peasants waiting for someone whose family has real estate connections up the wazoo to do the heavy lifting for them.

The reality is the community is all but cut off from any outside information (newspapers, pols, community board, you name it) and anyone else trying this would be either ignored or overwhelmed with orchestrated pro-development blather.
