WOODHAVEN (WABC) -- A hospital nurse walking home was sexually assaulted in the Woodhaven section of Queens.Eyewitness News is told the woman was attacked near the intersection of 96th Street and 85th Avenue just before 11 p.m.
She was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. Detectives plan to interview the woman at the hospital. Neighbors said she was walking home from the hospital, where she works as a nurse.
No arrests were immediately made.
Police say the attack is not part of either pattern of sexual assaults that have frightened residents of Southeast Queens.

Now let's say she had a gun. When the attacker jumped her, what should she have said?
"Excuse me Mr. Rapist, let me get my gun out."
I don't think that's the answer.
If we lived in a society where the bad guys thought the good guys might have guns, they would think twice about jumping anyone. But since only the criminals are allowed to have guns in our city, we're easy targets.

My friend was mugged on 70th Street around the corner from Maspeth Town Hall two weeks ago at 7PM (still broad daylight). When she went to the 104Pct in Ridgewood, there were 3 other people that had been mugged/robbed also filing a complaint. Now you have to go the the precinct - they dont come to you any more - )too busy in Ridgewood???)
