Hey, now who knew we'd be back here again so soon...
Apparently, local high schoolers have been handing out these postcards at school for a whore party taking place at Metronome tonight.
It looks as though Metronome has not yet applied for a state liquor license, although there is an active wine license owned by a restaurant operating at same address. There is also a complaint on file for violation of the certificate of occupancy.
What can Middle Village residents look forward to next?
Prediction: DOB does nothing, SLA does nothing.
UPDATE 5pm: Cops have threatened to shut down the whore party.

i'm tired of maspeth, middle village glendale. etc. what is the perk of living here exactly? even brooklyn is gentrifying while things get worse here. between the trash and the conservative reactionaries the quality of life truly sucks
modelz?
that is the skankiest model, ever.
Is that the old "Rub a Dub" pub on Metro (Corner)by the Cematary.
We would see 70's bands like Hyway, Alexas and Vixen there. It had a crummy little kitchen behind the bathroom wall.
I think it was also called (Metro and a dyke joint called Red. --- Again with no luck and issues)
..John Gotti (RIP) and some other fellas from the old neighborhood are buried across the street
"i'm tired of maspeth, middle village glendale. etc. what is the perk of living here exactly?"
there was never a perk to living there. you want a nicer nabe, come to northeast queens.
Oh please, eastern Queens has its share of dives, too.
It's only a matter of time until you get more of these types of "nightclubs" out there, too.
Joe: Red Zone is still down the street.

Yes, I hear Flushing is lovely these days. LOL LOL LOL
its interesting to hear what north east queens thinks of us ha. i acutally would rather live in somewhere like park slope, williamsburg greenpoint etc at this point. u actually get a subway and u no what. for all the urban problems, theres actually restaurants and things to do. so there it is.
There are lots of great restaurants in Maspeth, Middle Village and Glendale. But let's keep that our secret.

few and far between.

tony avella will stop them. he's good at stopping projects.

not my nabe so i wouldn't know.
All this happening only a block away from Como's office! And being distributed at a school whose board he is Secretary of!

Enjoy him while his term lasts. You're gettin' Vallone. And then the fun begins!
Middle Village dives are few and far between, too. That's why this is pretty surprising.
you know crappy, overdevelopment used to worry the "crap" out of me. but no more. with last week's wall street meltdown, builders ruining our lives will be a thing of the past. mark my words. as for vallone, he'll be like all the rest. a self-serving politician out to make a name for himself. you know, that's why so many people are so indifferent to politics. it's always the same shit, different people. it's all i'm sayin'.
Great restaurants in Middle Village?
to be fair, i've lived in maspeth most of my adult life. its a great place to live, there are nice restaraunts butsince i live towards the end of maspeth, all there really is, is a dunkin donuts, chinese and joe's pizza. and u need a car to get anything else which inculdes say, going to best buy. its just not the optimum environment.
is having nice restaurants the requirement for a good neighborhood? that's ridiculous. what about having large lots, lots of green and tree-lined streets? i didn't buy my house based on which restaurant, if any, was around the corner. what about eating at home and saving some $$$?
if you base where you want to live on the neighborhood eateries
a) you like to waste money,
b) you're high-mainetance and don't like to cook and c) you're probably fat.
fair enough, i guess we just have different opinions
"...towards the end of maspeth, all there really is, is a dunkin donuts, chinese and joe's pizza."
all unhealthy, artery-clogging crap. make an appointment with your cardiologist asap.
right, flame on.

His staffer Kerri probably dances there.
If no one has already said this...
Call your police Precinct Council and Community Affairs officers... also the local Fire Department to report this.
Get them on scene tonight to do an inspection.

You two don't think she actually exists outside of an airbrush do you? I doubt you'll see her at the party.
"I'm starting to find huge boobs, like that lady in the poster has, gross. But That's just me."
Then you'd be in the minority. Most guys become morons when they see a woman with big boobs.
The public's apathy to politics is not an accident: that is exactly what the clubhouse wants.
I agree.
It amazes me when I speak to my friends and they have no clue as to what is going on in the news. They have no idea (or all the wrong ideas)of the issues when they go and vote on election day. That's why the negative campaign ads we get bombarded with are so effective.
Dude, I'm so there. MetroNome? Let me search that up on Trip Planner.
Crapper: "Joe: Red Zone is still down the street."
Red Zone has been closed for over a year.
I'm still pretty surprised that this place painted over the 9/11 mural.
It appears the party is cancelled tonight due to the diligence and hard work of the community and Councilman Como's office. The police informed the owners today that any new parties of this nature would bring the full consequences of the law upon them. Thank you Councilman Como, James and all the staff.
Sincerely,
The residents of 79th Place
Actually, Councilman Como came late to the table as usual on this one. Robert Holden, President of the Juniper Park Civic Association, received the offensive postcard from a concerned business owner in the vicinity of this place yresterday afternoon. He gave the offensive postcard to Tommy Bell, Community Affairs officer at the 104th Precinct last night at the civic's meeting which Como decided not to attend. Tommy reported this afternoon that the organizer of the party was at the precinct today and was warned that he would be arrested if the party took place because the hall has no liquor license. I also reported this activity to the community board this morning and to the state liquor authority.
Thank you 104th Precinct!
It's always people who don't get paid who end up doing the real work in the community.
You also have a good Captain at the 104th. We miss having him at the 112th.
That may be true Christine but the Councilmans office had been working on this since the last party on Saturday when hundreds of people distrupted the peace on 79th place. We appreciate Bobs help but the Councilman was instrumental in stopping the party.
Thanks
Residents of 79th Place
Please, Anthony Como's office is notorious for doing absolutely nothing. I will be happy when Crowley wins and they get kicked to the curb.
If Anthony Como's office has known about this since last Saturday, why didn't he notify anyone else about it? I mean, he wants to work with the community but he doesn't inform the community of what's going on? He made up the thing about Red Zone turning into a strip club and posted it on CraigsList so he could have a made-up issue to campaign on, and here he had a real issue but he stayed silent. Too much work? None of this week's papers mentioned he was working on this.
More lies from a desperate campaign who sees the writing on the wall.
"Please, Anthony Como's office is notorious for doing absolutely nothing. I will be happy when Crowley wins and they get kicked to the curb."
Doesn't Crowley dance at this club?
No but I hear Gallagher is a regular customer.
You are wrong about the Councilman on both issues. First, the Councilman’s office was working with the local civic and merchant groups to stop this party and future parties. And the Craig list ad was for a biker bar with scantly dressed waitresses and was definitely not made up and thanks to our Councilman and Senator Maltese’s offices we were able to discourage them from opening in our neighborhood at the Red Zone. Obviously, you are not an active member of the civics that were involved so you were not notified. The goal is to effectively change the wrong to a right for the community not run around making press releases.
"If Anthony Como's office has known about this since last Saturday, why didn't he notify anyone else about it?"
Exactly! How come it only took 1 day for Holden and company to take care of it but longer than a week for Como to actually do nothing?
You know why? Cause he was working up a spin to make himself look good instead of getting the job done! Like it was earlier posted by anonymous,
"It's always people who don't get paid who end up doing the real work in the community."
If a politician can't make himself/herslelf look good then they won't do anything or do it at a snails pace.
Now all the Maspeth, Middle Village and Glendale whores have a place to go!
The joint should be crowded!!
Seems like Como did some good work here and the Juniper Park Civic is trying to take the credit.
CALL THE 104TH PCT ABOUT THE REAL STORY. COMO DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
Como is too busy kissing Serf's ass to do real work in the community. Can he actually put a complete sentence together without mentioning "the senator." He also doesn't know how to work for the community. What can you expect with Maltese as your mentor?
We see Maltese and Como giving everyone awards and holding town hall meetings. It seems Maltese finally figured out that he has to appear that he's doing something in order to have a chance in the election. Sending birthday greetings to constituents at taxpayer expense isn't going to work anymore.
Can anyone remember Maltese holding town hall meetings before this year?
Too little too late Maltese.
I don't know, when I read the comments it sounds like Como's obvious lackeys are giving credit to him while Juniper is giving credit to the cops. Says a lot about them both.
Mr. Como and his staff are totally useless. I called his office over two months ago about a neighbor turning his home into a rooming house.
Nothing happened and they never called me back. I then called the Juniper Valley Civic number last week and Mr. Holden personally contacted the building commissioner on my behalf.
In Middle Village we need a politician who will actually work to help our community since we see so many building and construction abuses. It seems Mr. Como is only interested getting his name in the paper.
I called and left a msg about an basement apartmant that I know about and nothing ever happen.
Bob Holden is a waste as are all his lackeys like Christian and Tony.
So what happened that night? Did the cops bust it up or did they party? This is killing me!I went there this AM and peered in and it looked like something took place there. Follow up, please! And tonight, Saturday, there are groups of drunk kids walking around 88th St. between Cooper and Union Tpk. Some are clearly drunk middle schoolers!!
"I called and left a msg about an basement apartmant that I know about and nothing ever happen.
Hey ignoramus, first, learn how to write and spell, second, Bob Holden can only put pressure on the Department of Buildings to inspect the basement apartment. Ultimately if the owner refuses access to the inspectors a court order to inspect must be sought. You as a complainant can sign the affidavit to get that court order but of course you wouldn't because you have no balls.
Better yet, ask Councilman Anthony Como to sign the affidavit, after all he gets paid with your tax dollars. Hold him accountable for the basement apartment.
Bob Holden volunteers countless hours to the community and should be thanked for all he does.
That crowd's too young for me.
I'm gonna hang out in the parking lot at LIJ's Parker and see what I can grab.
Check out all those Korean "clubs" along Northern Blv'd. in the posh Broadway/Flushing nabe of northeast Queens.
Just a few years back, the FBI busted a couple of sex slave operations.
More recently, a combined law enforcement task force raided
about a dozen of these same
Korean "clubs" about a year ago.
"SEX SELLS WELL"

I've had it with hangin' out with Dennis Pee Gallagher at the geriatric ward, I'm goin' for some young chicks at Forest Hills High School.
Is Kerri stripping there?
That Como is nothing but a waste of good pasta!
FYI, that Ignoramus guy is Dennis Pee Gallagher and Gallagher's son does the Patriots site.
That kid should be the last person to throw stones along with his perverted father.
