Leaning trees cause concern

Olga Zakinova lives in Jamaica, Queens and Andrew Kou lives in Fresh Meadows. They do not know each other, but they have something in common: they both say their homes are endangered by street trees leaning over their property.

Both say they have called 311 to express their concerns, but to no avail.

The obstacle they've both encountered is the city's policy not to cut down living trees. But living or not, Zakinova and Kou say their trees are dangerous, especially given the severe weather that's been hitting the country recently.

Hmm, lotsa immigrant folk simply chop down the trees and pour a bunch of concrete over the hole. How come none of the people who chop down and/or destroy trees in my neighborhood get ticketed?

or I heard one woman tell me how she was slowly poisoning a tree because the leaves fell into her yard.

Besides the ineffective bureaucracy, there is one set of laws/standards for natives and another set for illegal immigrants, the poor poor victims. They all have way more than I do! Cars, houses, government benefits, SBA loans, and the endless sympathy & compassion from liberals.

Anon #1. Despite all your ranting about preferences for immigrants, I doubt you would switch places with one.
