This week's political news roundup

Councilmember Simcha Felder is being appointed Deputy Comptroller by Comptroller John Liu. The Daily News explains that this move by Johnny is to help position him for a mayoral run in 2013. (Of course, Johnny still has 4 years in which to mess up and resign in disgrace.)

Former Comptroller William Thompson has declared his intention to run for mayor again. (Maybe this time he'll expand his campaign to white and Asian neighborhoods as well as black and Hispanic ones.)

Public Advocate Bill DeBlasio is going to push the civic-minded to community organize. (The idea is that you'll do the work so he won't have to.)

Queens Council neophytes have declared their New Year's resolutions and have new ideas. (Danny Dromm really wants to help day laborers. Taxpayers seem to rank a lower priority.)

Following in the footsteps of Hillary Clinton, another southern carpetbagger is considering running against Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.

And last, but certainly not least...

Barry Grodenchick, former Assemblyman and Parkside Group lobbyist, has been appointed Deputy Queens Borough President. (Even though his role in the illegal lobbying that Claire Shulman's group did with regard to the Willets Point land grab is certainly going to be examined by authorities.)

Is Barry Going to leave his job at Parkside? I think he's required to by law. Oh Wait this is NYC conflict of interest is defined differently here...

Put Barry Grodenchik under "oh sh*t not you again" label.

I wouldn't necessarily put Harold Ford in the same category as Hillary. At least he moved to NY three years ago, and didn't run for office within a few months. Let's see who else runs.

How come these articles never mention the salaries these moaxes pull down? Marshall's personal photographer hauls in $85 G's a year to take pictures of her fat ass every day.

So Grodenchik has come, hat in hand, back to Borough Hall for a job after leaving The Parkside Group.

Grodenchik was Shulman's right-hand man during her years at Borough Hall. More recently, when Grodenchik was a Parkside lobbyist, and Parkside was retained by Shulman's LDC for the Willets Point project, Grodenchik was inseparable from Shulman during public appearances. Grodenchik left Parkside right when news of NYS Attorney General Cuomo's investigation of Shulman's LDC first appeared in the news.

Whether Grodenchik aided and abetted the alleged unlawful lobbying of Shulman's LDC, in violation of NYS Not-For-Profit Corporation Law and the IRS Code of 1986, remains to be proven; but is no doubt a focus of the ongoing investigation by NYS Attorney General Cuomo.

Was Helen Marshall aware that Grodenchik is a target of AG Cuomo's investigation, when Marshall decided to hire Grodenchik as her deputy? Is there no other qualified candidate to serve as deputy?

Bill DeBlasio will use the idiots from Acorn and Working Families Party to make sure nothing really happens. Nat Smith will be in the mix. remember the name.

John Liu - the 13th Apostle.

A 3rd level clerk touted as future mayor.

Amazing what money from out of the country can do.

We guess that Felder helped Liu gain support from Brooklyn voters so now Johnny boy repays his debt by appointing him deputy.

Political "69".

It blows from both ends!

Liu's very good at that...just look at those lips!
