Eight months without hot water

From the Daily News:

Tenants in a Bedford-Stuyvesant housing development say they’ve been without hot water for eight months — and that countless calls to fix the problem were ignored by city officials.

Residents in one Kingsborough Houses building at 708 Seventh Walk said the lack of hot water has forced them to wake up at 4 every morning to boil water for bathing.

“It’s like living in a Third World country,” said Maggie Davis, 61, who each morning made repeated trips from the stove to the bathtub carrying 27 pounds of scalding hot water in a large pot.

Yea, welcome to the outerBs. A 3rd world country.

The citywide preservation community doesn't give a shit busily expanding their landmarked communities and taking the taxes of these good people to do it.

Remember their creed: if it doesn't happen in Brooklyn Heights, its not a problem.

In my building we had tenants who had to crap into plastic bags and get water from the Astoria park bathroom to cook with, wash with and drink. (not me by the way).

Stay strong!

Why do people stay in these apts for 8 months. With so many empty apartments around, I would've rather moved than live like an animal?
