Accidental governor says it's about race

Paterson Brings Up Racism for His Low Standing
By The New York Times

Gov. David A. Paterson said on Friday that the chorus of people who believe he should not run for election next year want to keep him out of the race because he is black.

“We’re not in the post-racial period,” said Mr. Paterson, according to an article posted on The Daily News Web site, which cited an interview the governor provided to a radio program hosted by Errol Louis, a Daily News columnist.

“My feeling is it’s being orchestrated, it’s a game, and people who pay attention know that,” he said. “We have a media that doesn’t report the news. We have a media that wants to make the news.”

Mr. Paterson — whose approval ratings and support even among fellow Democrats have dipped this year — also mentioned Deval L. Patrick, the Massachusetts governor and the country’s only other current black governor, and suggested that criticisms leveled against him are based on race.

“The reality is the next victim on the list, and you can see it coming, is President Obama, who did nothing more than trying to reform a health care system,” Mr. Paterson said.

This is the Govenor who is giving out $200. in cash to every welfare child in the state for school supplies. Where is the working stiff's help?

WHen the chips are down Patterson relies on the race card. His ratings (joke) are in the low teens. When will this old school Pol hang it up and move aside Harlem politics as usual to allow black individuals who have intelligent, creative ideas to the table.

Set an example to the community that putting aside personal gain for the betterment of all is the best leadership all citizens want. Stop the excuses - do something constructive for all citizens or get out of the way and stop wasting our time.

It must be so nice to have the race crutch to lean on when you want to detract from your incompetence. White politicians of equal uselessness don't have this crutch, and are thus forced to confront their incompetence, while minority politicians can simply blame race, and hopefully scare off critics, who are afraid of being labled racist.

Again with the race card? What is going on in this state and country? It is because of people like Patterson and what they say that racism still exists. If racism was the issue, people would not have voted for the Spitzer/Patterson ticket in the first place. Face it Dave, you're just not cut out for Governor!

Woooooo!

Pull the race card when you're losing!

We are now obliged to accept miserable incompetence from any moron politician who happens to be a racial minority?

There is a solution. Never again elect any candidate who is a minority. That way we will never have to deal with the insulting comments if the fellow screws up in office.

Can't believe it took him this long to play the race card. That's all he has. He's clueless and incompetent. He needs to grow a pair. When the powers that be didn't show up for work during the Espada fiasco, he did nothing. He should have withheld their pay. He knows he's not going to be re-elected, so he's playing the race card. Good luck with that.

Paterson would have never made governor if it wasn't on the rebound!

Dump this doofus!

I'm Sicilian ... so I guess I'm as black as Mr. Patersoni.

For accuracy's sake, I don't see too many people buying into this nonsense.

Check out what the guy who interviewed Paterson had to say about it:
