Too much testosterone?

Nobody even came out with a scratch. These are the New Yorkers we have today, people who can't even solve their problems through violence. This city has become so soft and yuppified it's despicable.

The cabbie should have been arrested. He could have seriously injured the pedicab driver when he rammed him.

Too bad the pedicab driver couldn't keep his cool, stick around and call the cops.

The cabbie didn't ram him. He cut him off.

Cab driver cut him off and Doucheberg blames the pedicab industry. He support the cruel horse carriage industry which requires no driver licenses and only 20,000 insurance. Doucheberg is silent when horse are injured and killed on the streets yet he has something to say about a street fight. I really hope he DIES

You didn't watch the video I watched then. The guy had to jump off the bike not to be hit himself.

Then you admit that the cab didn't slam into him. Gotta love bike enthusiasts. Always exaggerating.

Again, you're seeing things. There's no exaggeration. The pedicab was hit and the driver had to dismount to know be hit himself. To deny that means that you're not watching the correct video or you're a moron. It's also a real leap to assume I'm a "bike enthusiast" because I think the cabbie was wrong. Have fun in your dream world, guy.

My favorite place to drive in all of NYC is on E.57th Street making that left turn onto the upper ramp of the Queensboro Bridge getting my ass out of that Manhattan nuthouse.

Back home to Queens. Where the traffic is a tad bit saner.

I literally breath a sigh of relief there.

Frank's original quote: "He could have seriously injured the pedicab driver when he rammed him."

Then Frank admits that he didn't ram him.

Then Frank says, "The pedicab was hit and the driver had to dismount to know be hit himself" which doesn't even make sense.

The cab driver slammed on the brakes when the pedicab was next to his cab. Why didn't the pedicab driver stick around? Because he knew he would have a ticket to the Tombs. He not only threw 2 objects at the cab driver, he took the first swing when they were fighting.

Frank said...

When I wrote that he rammed "him" I mean that the cabbie hit the pedicab while the pedicab driver was in/on his vehicle.

For instance if you were in your car and someone hits your car it's acceptable to say that they "hit you" since you were in your car.

My second statement had a typo but it is still understandable. When the pedicab was hit the driver could have been injured as well. As a reflex he jumped off the pedicab.

Stop splitting hairs and playing dumb just because you disagree with my point. It's a really weak rhetorical device.

Now, I don't think the pedicab driver is innocent in this and we don't know what happened before the tape starts but ultimately the cabbie crossed the line when he hit the fucking pedicab with his vehicle. That's NOT the same as cutting someone off as you incorrectly maintain and it's in no way acceptable. Right there he's guilty of reckless endangerment.

They are both asses. They both could have been run over in the intersection causing some innocent driver much grief.

they are both cab drivers with the same stupid mentality, one just happens to be driving a bike instead of a car. both idiots. cabbied gte into fights all the time overs fares and cutting each other off. this is no different. instead of mental hygiene checks for gun ownerhsip, the city should do it for cab licenses.

in the video i watched, the cabbie is clearly the aggressor...he could have just kept driving when the light changed. he stops to escalate. if the cabbie had moved on this wouldn't have happened.

when the bike guy chucks the coffee the cabbie rams the guy with his car, gets out and comes around to confront, thereby starting the fight...at this point the biker is defending himself (poorly, and obviously not from queens)

having said that, can't we all agree that pedicabs are ridiculous? also, if you are going to actually drive a pedicab you should probably take some sort of self-defense training cuz you are bound to be pissing some people off.

From another annonymous; please stop with the stupid "he rammed him, he didn't ram him" nonsnse.
The cab should have know better than to cut in front of the pedicab, as he could have caused severe injuries to the pedicab driver and any pedestrians that got into the way. I don't care what you call what the cabdriver did, the bottom line is that it was reckless, stupid and dangerous, and falls into the category of road rage. The cabbie should lose his license, and maybe even be locked up. We don't need this nonsense on our streets.

I was going to say it looks like 2 guys prone to road rage managed to find each other.

This happened right near the Ed Sullivan Theater? Why did the police take so long to get there? THAT doesn't make sense.

Anonymous said...

Donut break?

Anonymous said...

It took so long for the police to get there because these two idiots probably had traffic backed up at least to Columbus Circle.

Ms. Tsouris said...

Road rage is rampant on NY streets, including my own. Only Manhattan incidents make any kind of news. Incivility is the order of the day now. The cabbie is obviously the aggressor, but both guys are immature idiots, neither of whom should be allowed to drive anything.

Anonymous said...

He threw coffee into an open window. He should be arrested for vandalism. The cab is the guy's livelihood

Exactly.

I say bring the Second Amendment back to NYC. If those guys were packing heat we would have two less 'fargan ice holes' around.

Kurt said...

He shouldn't be driving a cab if traffic gets him upset.

And if we're real lucky, maybe an innocent kid or two?

I didn't see much in the way of impressive testosterone levels, only unimpressive anger management and intelligence.

I get cut off that way pretty routinely when I bike. Maybe even nearly daily. Once I signaled to change lanes on Houston Street and as nearly killed when the van further back did what is sadly typical -- he accelerated to not be behind the biker. That's ridiculous, of course, because in Manhattan traffic the biker is always faster in the end anyway.

When I try to report the license numbers of reckless drivers, however, I am told there's nothing to be done. I wish at least a driver might have a file of some sort if he or she is reported by other citizens as a frequent hazard. Maybe there's another solution, but I haven't found it.

was in the city today, w 55 street and trying to make my way back to the east side was a joke. once i went through the park to get to the east side, noticed traffic trying to get up e 65 street and i couldn't believe it double park cars!!! i guess they were there to p/u children. i think everyone in the city can't drive for shit and crossing on the red doesn't help..
