Another reason to vote for Halloran

If you enjoyed the tenure of Mario Cuomo, then by all means vote for Kevin Kim. But if you are like 95% of the Queens people I know who refer to him as Mario F$@%#& Cuomo, then you have to believe that this helps Halloran.

Another reason to vote for Halloran..

One of my neighbors came over to me this morning upset about something. She and her husband are registered Democrats. Two Kevin Kim volunteers rang their doorbell last week looking for her husband, who happens to be Asian. Hmmmmm.

Her question to me was, why were they only looking for her husband and not her?

Anyone have a good answer?

Hey Mario, you're a racist pig!

Be gone, you have no power here.

When my wife and I went to vote in the Primary, 3 Kevin Kim people came running up to my wife (who is Asian) on the street. They said that there had been reports of Asians being challenged and/or having a hard time voting, and they had a big list of names of (I guess) registered voters with Asian-sounding names, and they checked her name off their list. I thought it a bit strange at the time.

Fuck Cuomo and his son. Cuomo's firm is representing Bloomberg in the sexual discrimination case. This bastard spoke on behalf of Bloomberg to overturn the people's will and extend term limits. The Cuomos should be sleeping with the fishes.

did you know that mario tells people that he got a larger bonus, to sign a pro-baseball contract, than MICKEY MANTLE ?if he had remained in the sports industry, the citizens of new york would be better off.

nice guy/rotten governor!!!!!!

father of sub-prime scammer ,andrew???

Birds of a feather flock together. If Cuomo is endorsing Kim, it's for sure that Kim is a thief. Vote for Halloran. This Asian Campaign is a little too aggressive for me. An election should be about who is the best candidate for the job, not whether you can gather every Asian and force them to vote for their kind. Scary.

That's right folks. It was Mario's son, Andrew, who as Clinton's Housing Secretary, promoted the sub-prime banking mess.

Andrew Cuomo is like a modern day Wyatt Earp - he always gets the bad guys.

Is that why you all don't like him?

Thanks to the NYS legislature and AG Cuomo, his son, starting Saturday we will pay another $1.20 per case of water. Yes, you used to pay $4.50 for a case of poland spring, which will now be increased by over $1.20cs with dep and price increases by distributors in order to not lose percentage points for their businesses.Almost 30%. Now we have to pay more to be healthy?

100% correct concerning the sub prime mess and Andrew Cuomo. Word needs to start getting out now for next year.

Cuomo once stood up for the little guy at Forest Hills and Willets Point. Now, he's just another meaningless name on the long endorsements list.

Carol-
Not only do we not like him, WE DESPISE YOU!

I guess he got his. Right, Carol?

Oh brother, another bunch of AM radio hothead dunces.

Mario Cuomo was a -good- Governor for the WORKING CLASS.

During his tenure landlord and other parasitic groups were held at-bay.
Less than two years after his defeat, the upstate repub's and their shill Potaki went about the business of trying to deliver this city to the tender mercies of landlords via abolition of rent stabilization.

They couldn't get their way..completely..but they weakened those protections and now we see the results: an accelerating exodus of working class from this city.

Understand this much: if you work for a living, are not independently wealthy..you have NO business voting for republicans. None.

They will just hand you the K-Y and you'll readily reach for your toes.

Don't vote your prejudices and fears...turn off that damn AM radio.

Cuomo was a good man. His heart was in the right place.

Blah, blah, blah, Lino. With all that has been discovered about Kevin Kim, so you really think he is the right candidate for the people of the 19th district to give their votes to?

And your "heart being in the right place" isn't the same as being a good executive. Look at Jimmy Carter. Heart in the right place, terrible President.

Lino, I totally agree. It's unbelievable to me how foolish people are. I can never understand how people are so against giving the poor a little boost, but have no problem making sure the rich get richer when they vote republican.
And how in the world can you pull the lever for someone like Sarah Palin?

I did not comment on Kim, I don't live in Queens and thus don't get involved in local politics.

What I objected were these idiots slandering a good Governor who, yes DOES have his heart in the right place...as opposed to where your head is..

So Italian Girl is voting for Kevin Kim?'

And Lino, if Cuomo was so good, and he is saying Kim is good, then it stands to reason that you want Kim to win.

"So Italian Girl is voting for Kevin Kim?"

If this is true, then it is a sad state of affairs. However, when her neighborhood becomes overdeveloped, I hope that she does not come here to whine!!! In this election, Dan Halloran will do more to represent the people of the 19th District than Kim. Besides the residency issue, I think that Kim's campaign contributions and the manipulations by the Ackerman machine are indications of how Kim's term will unfold. The wrong choice in this election will come back to haunt the people of north Queens. Italian Girl, Happy Halloween. BOO!!!

No, Jack-O-Lantern, I will be voting for Halloran. The alternative is just too scary.

Halloran scared the sh$@ out of me when I first saw him at the various debates. Looked way too conservative for my taste. But after listening to both Kim and Halloran, it's clear to me who will be best to carry on Avella's work. Kim's money trail is most disturbing.
Kim had my vote until I saw his contributions. How does he even explain that?
Halloran will be fine, even though he's a republican nutcase. But maybe that's what this district needs - a fighter. I don't want any wishy-washy CM like Kim appears he would be.
Anyway for a local council race, you shouldn't even look at the party, but the person. For instance, I voted for Padavan. Gennaro was just too much of a slimeball. I think it's the bigger races where the party counts more.

Boo!?
It takes a lot more than that to spook me...
;)

Whew! Glad you see the light (coming out of my mouth). Still love ya, Italian Girl. You made me nervous there. I hope your neighbors understand the issues and vote the same way. Kim's money trail of campaign donations is what should seal the deal.

How much power does one Councilman have? By that reasoning, shouldn't Tony (and before him, Mike Abel) have gotten everything they wanted, too? Yes, I'm impressed with Halloran, and I think the sh!t that Schenkler/Ackerman pulled was disgusting, but I've seen too many elections to know that we will survive no matter who's there. Bush, Bloomberg, Obama ... very little is ever accomplished.

I, for one, know that Avella saved his district from many awful projects including the mayor's choice for development at Flushing Airport which would have been very detrimental to the College Point community. You would be surprised how much of a difference a Kim 19th district would be from a Halloran 19th district. Tony may not have gotten everything he wanted but he fought like hell to preserve the communities that he served. Halloran will continue that level of service. Kim is already bought and sold. Just check out his campaign contributors!
