No emergency at Abbracciamento's party

From Fox 5:

Despite a financial crisis, taxpayers still foot the bill for cars that hundreds of New York City employees are allowed to take home. There are strict rules that say the cars are only supposed to be used for official city business -- but what about a party?

Fox 5's John Deutzman investigated this case, and confronted employees from the Department of Environmental Protection who drove their city-issued cars to a retirement party in Queens.

They're usually parked all over the L.I.E. service road by Junction Boulevard, blocking traffic. A lot of cars with NYPD permits are parked there as well in the same fashion.

[To Deutzman] "You need to talk to Public Relations."

Students, a brilliant response. All encompassing for any occassion. Are you taking notes here? This will be on your mid-term.

Why bdo so many MTA officials have take home cars? They get free transportation from whatever sub-agency they work for? Oh yeah, they might have to respond to work off hours for an emergency! Since that happens about once a year, why not just re-imburse them if they use a cab or their own personal vehicle?

I am sick and tired of paying for these useless perks from my hard earned tax paying dollars.

Come on....this has to stop!

More questions: Who attended? Was it on company time (or overtime)? Who paid for it? And why at Joe A.'s?

Another example of Blumturd's great management of this city.

For a cleaner government- vote Deutzman for City Council!

that's nothing. i got the middle finger from a dep employee in a dep car a little over one year ago outside their office building on junction

kinda like the guy who parks his DEP SUV across the sidewalk on 101St. in Howard Beach, forcing people to walk in the street to get around it. These people think they own the city because they work for it.

Not all city workers act like they own the city.

Most city workers hate abusers like cops and city vehicle parkers and especially Bloomberg.
