Craigslist prostitution ring busted in Queens

From Newsday/AP:

Seven people have been indicted on charges of running a Queens-based, 24-hour prostitution ring on Craigslist.

Attorney General Andrew Cuomo's office says five of the seven were arrested Wednesday on charges of corruption, conspiracy and money laundering. They're scheduled to appear in state Supreme Court on Wednesday in Queens, where authorities say the operation was based.

Authorities are searching for two other people.

Cuomo's office says the group operated Room Service Entertainment in the "erotic services" section of Craigslist from June 2007 through December 2008.

Not surprising that Cuomo would target politically correct criminals:

Scott Sal Rosenberg, 45, and Josef Davenport, 31, are accused of co-owning and operating Room Service Entertainment (RSE), headquartered in Ozone Park and advertised exclusively in the Erotic Services section of Craigslist.I wonder if Cuomo will ever go after the services advertised in the Village Voice, or even in some of the Queens newspapers? How about those "dollar dance" establishments on Roosevelt Avenue?

Funny, Rev Flake says nothing. Rev. Taylor says nothing. Come to think of it, no Rev. says a thing.

So how about the parishers?

eh?

No, first we round up the pedants, and line them up against the wall!

Wade, please explain something to me.

If a guys pays a whore for sex, maybe buys her a pizza or something, or a girl marries a very rich guy who gives her vacations and a very expensive house and a lavish lifestyle, and she gives him sex ... what is the difference?

Buying the whore is an honest transaction.

Don't you think the husband gets a little more in return than just sex?

I'm not going to quibble with you on your hypotheticals, I agree with your point.

I only oppose Cuomo's obvious political showboating. The way the laws are written, he should go after the other examples as well: ads in Queen's Trib, Village Voice, dollar dance clubs, touts on Roosevelt Avenue, Jennifer Lopez, Monica Lewinsky, etc.

Not really. I still have to wash the dishes!

You have to wonder what brought this prostitution ring to the attention of Cuomo.

Did one of these girls (or boys) charge a high price for lousy sex?

Was he competing with his predecessor Spitzer (the former Atty Gen), but couldn't keep "up"?

Didn't Spitzer teach us that the more a politician cries out about some prostitute, the more likely it is that the prostitute is on his payroll, and his rolodex?

Arm candy? who knows, but I can say one thing ....

"...you don't know Suzie like I know Suzie ... "

50% chance he'll be paying half his earnings in alimony while being told he's not allowed to have custody of his children? Marriage is becoming a dangerous game for penis owners.

Made a poor choice Wade. With your talent what a waste ... well there is always Act II.

Maybe by then you'll get the point of the exercise.

I worked everywhere - even did some pretty impressive stuff - but my first job (like my first girl) will always be my favorite.

Washing dishes! Still enjoy it.

go figure....

now back to the thread.

No, there is no Act II. When I'm dead, it's.....nothing......there is no point of the exercise.

but my first job (like my first girl) will always be my favorite.
Well, my first "job" was from my first girl, and she's still my favorite, otherwise I wouldn't have married her!

Well you guys gotta be good for something around the house, don't you think??

hahaha - always thought TMI stood for Three Mile Island.

When you are in the coccoon, you miss out on a lot. Variety is the spice of life.

And yes, in this country, there is always an Act II. Accepted wisdom since the time of de Touqueville

One of the reasons we got rid of those dammn Brits. You know that I am sure.

Maybe so, I've seen it happen as well. But the argument loses some of its luster when we see a woman beaten senseless or murdered by her boyfriend or husband.
This dangerous game works both ways.

Wade, the criminal(s) are not politically correct, the prosecution of them is.

"This dangerous game works both ways."

No one deserves to be abused, its terrible when it happens. But the issue wasn't spousal abuse, it was women trading their affection for material gain. The argument doesn't lose anything because...its a totally different argument.

BUT, financial manipulation is also used by men to control their partners. Women often do the same thing, and the opportunity presents itself within marriage moreso than in a union that has nothing to do with the law. Abuse is abuse and no one is innocent, but I think marriage is being used like anything else would be used by an abuser.

When a man or a woman equates marriage with prostitution, it's proper to believe that the person just revealed a sad fact about him or her self.

The sad fact is that the person apparently lives a loveless, cold life with no relationship with persons of the opposite sex.

What a sad, trivial life for anybody. Living the life of amoebae.

Noted. For the record, WeeNie rejects all efforts to point out spelling, mechanical, or grammar errors in others' writings.

lmao, marriage has become a dangerous game for penis owner.

wow guess you got totally fucked.
where's the love? was with my husband for 28 years married 22, until he passed away. prostitution is just wrong, god knows what the hell you'll catch. and to this guy hope you find true, trusting love one day.
a marriage takes two people to make it work.

Spoken like a very bitter person who a) has been dumped a LOT, b) has just been through a messy divorce or c) can't get anyone to marry them in the first place.

Marriage is a beautiful thing if you're lucky enough to find the right person for you.
