Neglecting most of your district is not a wise move

He plays up Bushwick history, fails to mention Ridgewood at all, but he loves Mexican food.

Peter Koo uses the phrase "24 hours a day, 7 days a week" twice in his video, but of course the main highlights are diversity! and food! They also somehow shot video of Flushing without showing the huge trash piles on the sidewalk. Impressive! And there apparently are no other neighborhoods but Flushing in Pete's world.

How come none of these CM's look too excited doing any of these videos?

They all look like they've just come from an EIT session.

Humus, pasta with sauce, nuts and raisins anyone? Pureed of course.

There's the Diversty word again. Everyone by now should know the Diversity is the code word for " no Whites allowed".

One thing you can't accomplish in Flooshing is reading the business signage??? Where's the rest of Koo's district? It looks like he's the CM of downtown Flooshing, that's it.

I always feel like i'm the foreigner.

I wish someone would start a blog that lists business that speak english and those that don't. I hate wasting my time going to a store only to discover they don't speak english.

diversity has no meaning except for marketing purposes

so reynoso thinks tacos makes his district unique.how come he doesn't play up the gentrification that those towns represent,he would be surprised that the his new constituents actually love that notoriety.

and koo could have took a page from reynoso bragging about having the best sheer orange and red bags in his district.I bet they had to film those clips when it wasn't windy out.

What is the purpose of the videos? who is paying for them?

""24 hours a day, 7 days a week"

When the Asian seniors were using the local McDonald's as their personal clubhouse Koo didn't care and seemed to ignore the agreement made between the oldsters and the burger chain. He said people hang out all day at Starbucks.
Well, I passed the McDonald's the other day and the seniors were camped out there during the times they agreed no to be.
Perhaps Koo should use his office to assist the local non-Asian businesses as well as the community that is exclusively featured in his video.

Someone put a gun to their heads to do these videos? No one had the balls to refuse?

Crappy,

Where are you getting these videos? I'd like to see the whole set.

"I'd like to see the whole set."

Get the whole set!
Collect them!
Trade them with your friends!
Give them as Christmas gifts!
Then throw them all away!

Why are they all obsessed with food?

The overall take on this series of videos is that it shows how limited, ordinary and unimpressive our Councilmembers are.

Very true Ron S. they sound like a bunch of uneducated baffons.

"Uneducated baffons"?

As some one who is familiar with flushing--I am disappointed Mr Koo left out the historic facts... He shows all the small asian shops, but not Bowne house, or the quaker meeting house (a stop on the underground railroad) or Town Hall... 24/7 asian take out is an interesting aside, but he speaks like someone who has no real knowledge of this area...

NYC TV is funded by taxpayers.

Anon 19:

That is because Peter Koo and the rest of our vibrant and diverse neighbors have no idea about the history of the areas in which they live nor do they care.
