Longer wait for subway extension

From WPIX:

The 7 train extension to Manhattan’s West Side will not open by Feb 24, 2015.

MTA says it’s now planning for sometime in April, May or June.

Escalators and elevators have been blamed for previous delays. Contractors were promised a bonus if the station opened by February 24, 2015.

But that date will not be met says Dr. Michael Horodniceanu, the President of MTA Capital construction.

And when it opens, about 500 passengers per day will be using this station during the Javits Center downtime.

But the Javits Center is going to be moved to the Sunnyside Yards, no?

The 1.7 million square feet 10 Hudson yards is expected to be completed in 2015, and partially occupied by July. Will the 7 be finished by then?

I read somewhere that the hudson yard developer requested this so they could build some structure near the tunnel. If true, that tells you everything you need to know: The MTA and electeds don't care about you - only the developers.

They really cannot move the Javtis Center to Sunnyside. Worst.idea.ever.
