I hope someone helps out the people of Whitestone. Good luck

We have an even worst eyesores here in middle village. Come to 78st between upper cooper ave and 69rd. Noise, illegal parking, graffiti, trucks clogging the block, tractor trailer rig parked on the sidewalk all day, laquer smell from hanging in the air, ect. The DOT can't even get crap right by clogging up the catch basin on the corner with cement.

Where's Dizzy Lizzy? Where's Robert Holden? No where to be found. Middle Village isn't just juniper park people.

You saw it here live 3 times. Crappy, thank you and Al Centola for bringing this blighted property in our community to the forefront.

Someone called Al a "Blow Hard" keep blowing Al, at least you get things done. Now maybe with some primetime attention it will get cleaned up.

Avella you are a media whore! You "introduce" new legislation while Al gets things done.

Greater Whitestone where are you? asleep at the wheel yet again! Halloran, still waiting for you to do something!

Al Centola for North East Queens!!!

To the forgotten ones in MV I know you're not talking about the place by the cooper mall... If you think that looks like an eyesore then you don't know what eyesores look like... That is one of the most beautiful blocks I pass by on the Q54 ride... Some kids spray painted one little sign of graffitti and the middle village construction works there but they keep everything clean... that area is really nice... At least this one in whitestone is a legitimate eyesore and is finally being addressed

Wrong place. No buses pass where I am talking about. The eyesores I am talking about are on 78st.

If your waiting for halloran on this one, forget it. He's been aware for many months and can't get action from the absentee owner.
Councilman Dan "CAN'T" Halloran!

From Sarurday's post:

"We also ask that all Elected Officials, and Civic Leaders, do whatever is in their power to have this EYESORE cleaned up."

--------------------------------

Call a press conference - they'll all be there in a flash.

=================================

SEE, I TOLD YOU SO.

And State Senator Phony Avella was right there!

My goodness. An eyesore next to a school?! Oh the horrors and mental anguish those children must endure.

That's what we need. New legislation that skips eminent domain altogether and just seizes property for unsightliness.
Avella also wanted to propose legislation that confiscated trucks of drivers with three off truck route violations. I guess $2000 fines aren't harsh enough against working people in avellas eyes, he would rather take away a persons way of making a living.

I like how Avella is so concerned about the situation in whitestone that he couldn't bother to actually go there for an interview.

Queens Crap,

We thank you for all your help by maintaining and keeping this blog going. If it weren't for your blog many wrongs would go unanswered here in Queens.

From the Tree limbs, large and hanging precariously in Francis Lewis Park that get immediately cleaned up after being featured on your site, to the numerous other stories featured here.

Thank you, for giving us in Queens a venue to be heard.

Spoke with the owners of this property on 154th street and 11th avenue that was featured on WPIX 11 News last night. We will be working on a clean up project for this site.

I know Al said he doesn't want to run, and I didn't see him being interviewed by wpix. I really hope he either changes his mind, or gets enough write ins to win.

THANKS FOR MAKING WHITESTONE A BETTER PLACE FOR OUR CHILDREN

Great job, remember what Al says in his story, that sidewalk needs to be fixed before someone gets hurt.

I live in Whitestone too said...

Notice in the piece, you were able to see the White House. Amazing how Greater Whitestone made a big stink about the upgrading of that property, but are nowhere to be seen or heard when it comes to this eyesore. One might think they are hoping the whole area become blighted so their friends can pick it up at a steal?

Or are they really just that useless?

Yes, someone needs to follow up and make sure the sidewalk gets fixed. If enough people call 311 on the owner the fines alone might make them fix it.

GO AL, great job......

Hooters is looking for another in Queens. A Girlfriend of mine works the one in Fresh Meadows she gets all the scoop, this is perhaps "the mess" they looked at in Whitestone

Devon; the idea is to clean not only the front of the building but also the second story, which you missed the last time Halloran sent you there. We don't need to see community groups let the absentee landlords or councilman off the hook!

I didn't realize Halloran sent him the last time, it all makes sense now.

Devon is a good kid that means well, thing is he is letting Halloran and Crissy to pull his strings.

Devon do the right thing and be careful of the limelight, you need not be their puppet.

One other thing, Where is Greater Whitestone on this issue? The Codys too busy fighting the Whitehouse restaurant to worry about this mess? What about Pat and Barbara, where are they, and why have they not gotten involved? WAKE UP YOU GEEZERS!

So Far Al's group the Malba Gardens Civic, and Devon have been active in getting this cleaned up.

Greater Whitestone has been useless since they got a taste of Stavisky via Avella $$$$$$$$

Why don't you fuckin' people get off your ass and do something, Malba Gardens and Welcome to Whitestone are groups that care about there neighborhood and are willing to take a stand. Al and Devon should team up and remove those do nothing fucks called the taxpayers. How dare anybody say anything negative about people trying to make a positive difference. Take is cheap, pick up a paint brush!
