Chronicle endorses Vallone for DA?

From the Queens Chronicle:

As [Peter Vallone] told the Chronicle on Wednesday, unlike many council members, he hasn’t been handing out funds to groups that employ his former staffers. Around the city, many such organizations are little more than slush funds for the politically connected. But Vallone hasn’t been playing that game.

It’s time all of this nonsense came to an end. All council members should receive equal discretionary funding. And Vallone, an independent conservative Democrat and man of integrity, should get your vote. He’s expected to run for district attorney after this term in the council, his last under the law, if Richard Brown retires. Seems like he’d make a fine successor.

Didn't Queens Crap repeatedly lampoon the Vallones?

I thought that he was already chosen by the Democratic Party establishment to be the next Borough President.

The Queens Chronicle is Hardly the First place I'd trust for an endorsement. Look to see how many Ad's Peter Has taken.

And Vallone, an independent conservative Democrat and man of integrity,

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

SOO DISAPPOINTED

What gets me is how they can endorse someone speculatively when the current occupant hasn't expressed the desire to leave and the alleged candidate hasn't announced they are running for the seat.

No, no, no. This is the way it works. Weiner runs for Borough Prez and and the idiots will vote for him. Then after he is totally cleansed runs for mayor.

Comrie is the party boss choice for BP.

The very fact that Crappy is evening doing something like this that even remotely shows Vallone in a favorable light is odd indeed.

Considering all the garbage that goes on here, the fact that political office is anointed time and time again should be the message of this blog.

You know I actually was waiting for my readers to pick up on the kneeslapper in the first paragraph but I see you're too busy with conspiracy theories involving the blogger to notice.

Come on Crappy - you have a love hate relationship with this guy.

Can you see any housing or development issues coming before DA Vallone - who is likely to be in office for another 30 years?

Anonymous said...

Crapper has a love hate relationship with Peter Vallone? How did you determine that? Have you read the past posts about the guy?

Typical Queens - focus on the bullshit issue like personalities.

The fact that this man is a serious contender to that position for the next generation should give a pause to everyone in this borough.

Now, the trick question - here is the tough part: can you explain why?

That paper has no cred! It's the "Vallone Gazette". The Vallones fill up the paper with those cheezy law firm ads to grease up the papers owners.

Anonymous said...

No, that paper has a different color masthead. We will review colors at another time.

Next guess ... who will volunteer an opinion .... ?

The BP slot is reserved for Grodenchick.

Oh yes, that guy that is on Bowne House's Board - nice work there.

Any takers for why Vallone would not be a good DA? Someone....?

Puh-leeze....what's all this crap with Steve Behar all the time?

Steve for this and Steve for that.

The guy's a LOSER!
He did miserable in the election.

Now, agreed, Behar is a nice honest guy but so is my cousin Bob.

Does that make Bob a viable candidate capable of winning an election even for dog catcher?

NO!

So enough of the Behar bandwagon already.

i like steve behar and i will explain why
when you live in a county rife with corruption and run by lobbyists you want to believe in something good steve stands for what can be good in queens every hackju st wants to sell out the district a good example is matt silverstein letting the parkside write a letter in his name about dan halloran to doi and the bar it shows that matt will step on anyone to get ahead and it also shows that matt will do anything to look good in front of the party it looks as matt does not have the character to serve public office contrast that with steve behar steve would never try to destroy anyone and would never be used by the parkside i am a republican from whitestone and i would vote for steve behar any day as for matt and the parkside i hope one day queens will be free from hACKS LIKE THAT

TONY AVELLA WAS ONCE LIKE STEVE BUT HE SOLD OUT I WILL BE VOTEING REPUBLICAN

Steve is a nice guy and I think he means well. Problem is he has no presence, and can't hold a conversation without stumbling.

I think he needs to work that out and get his name out there, not just on the Community Board, which many from North East Queens see as a filter for the Counlmembers.

Whereas, Al Centola is a genuine guy with the communities best interest at heart. He is not beholden to any Special Interest, especially not to any Developers like Mattone, Muss, or Ratner, just to mention a few.

Al is a stand up guy who listens, and will listen. I think Al Centola should run and if he doesn't then I agree with the poster on QC that says he should be a write in.

Al Centola For North East Queens.

Behar can't hold a conversation without stumbling? He may be the most knowledgeable and articulate politician in Queens. That guy knows the ins and outs of every issue you can throw at him from local stuff to federal stuff.

We will all remember this about Steve as the next several decades of R E litigation is handled by a Vallone.

"steve behar is smart and funny he would actually bring some life into borough hall."

WTF This is a reason to vote a guy into public office, Not that Beep is a REAL job, just sayin'

Anonymous said...

Talk about the fox guarding the chicken coop. Yeah, he'd make a good DA. What are these people smoking?

Anonymous said...

steve behar for queens borough president! jerry ianeece for dave weprin's assembly seat! and matt silverstein for CB11 president!

Anonymous said...

steve behar for congress! let bay terrac have a real sense of representation! behar and weprin to D.C. we don't need ackerman!

We're still waiting for Vallone to do something to have save the Steinway Mansion, before Sothebys, the Halberians' new real estate broker, sells it off.

Anonymous said...

Don't just charge Vallone with the Steinway Mansion - its the fault across the board - Federal and State are just to blame.

Anonymous said...

Will someone please tell me what can become of the Steinway Mansion (if it's saved) in that industrial area?

Remember Hunters Point?

Remember Kaufman Astoria Studios?

Look at all the attention on Newtown Creek.

It takes a tincture of care for the community by those in the position to do something about it - the rest is easy.
