Grab and ride, you would figure one of these ladies would take a picture with their cell phones, I guess not enough time.
We all have been "brushed" by delivery boys on their bikes on the sidewalk.
Just MACE or Pepper Spray him. And when he's on the ground crying, you call 911. What's the big deal? He won't do it again.
Likely MACE and pepper spray are not available to law abiding citizens in NYC.

Since this is now big news, allow me to enlighten our local networks of other possible topics for news "exclusives"; cars not stopping at stop signs, people using cellphones while driving, bicyclists riding wrong way and on sidewalks, people flinging used cigarettes onto the sidewalk, spitting, urinating in public, angry drivers cursing at each other, and people shoving each other on crowded trains. Hey I get it, someome grabbed your ass, it is terrible. But you're not in Kansas anymore Dorothy. Get over it!

Groping someone is NOT OK. On the subway, by some hoodlum on the street, it's not ok if anyone does it. That's a serious offense. And to chuck it up as "Well, that person's not even from New York, some midwestern state" is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
Stop being ignorant for a second and think about the offense. As a woman, it's scary and violating. It's not whiny to say so. I've gotten grabbed on a crowded subway before and it's not funny, this is not something any woman should have to deal with. Who cares where they are from?

There's misdemeanor, 1st degree, 2nd degree, 3rd degree categories, all falling under sexual assault. What's with the turnip truck refugees posting on the blog today?
Of course I understand there is a legal distinction. In terms of being victimized, there is a big difference between being raped and being briefly grabbed. To think otherwise is insulting to rape victims.

Maybe I should use another example from a male perspective. If a man were to rape me, I would probably be horrified, victimized, and possibly be permanently psychologically damaged. If a man were to quickly grab me and take off, I would probably be briefly grossed out and then go about my business and have a quirky story to tell.
Maybe it's just another benefit to being a man besides being able to piss standing up.

The other day I stood at the corner of 12th Street and Washington in front of the Standard Hotel: people watching as i was waiting for someone.
Saw the (mostly) sweet young things disembark from cabs.
Saw more T&N, more thigh, more ungainly tottering on stupid looking heels than imagined.
Being a product of a generation when women prided themselves in demanding that they be regarded as serious people - the equals to me - I saddened that many women have regressed to dressing themselves are sex objects.
So yes ladies, if your gender stupidly cavorts like that in public don't be surprised if our gender stupidly reached out to touch the low handing fruit bouncing in their face.
The simple fact is that people should be looked at as people, not sex objects.
